Zaki Manian

Zaki Manian is a veteran blockchain developer and entrepreneur best known as a central figure in building the Cosmos ecosystem, where he launched the first public Cosmos testnets and served as a director at Tendermint, driving completion of the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol before resigning in 2020 amid a public dispute with founder Jae Kwon. A largely self-taught engineer who studied history of science at the University of Pennsylvania, he has contributed to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Zcash since teaching himself cryptography around 2014. He co-founded iqlusion, which runs validator and infrastructure services, and Sommelier, a Cosmos-based coprocessor for DeFi portfolio management, and he co-founded the Trusted IoT Alliance.
