Gavin Wood
Gavin Wood is a co-founder of Ethereum and one of the most technically formative figures in its early history: he wrote the Ethereum Yellow Paper, served as the first CTO of the Ethereum Foundation, and designed the first version of the Solidity programming language. After leaving the Foundation in early 2016, he co-founded Parity Technologies, founded the Web3 Foundation, and went on to create Polkadot and its canary network Kusama, pursuing his vision of interoperable, upgradeable blockchains. A British computer scientist with a PhD from the University of York, he coined the term Web3 in 2014 and has more recently been developing JAM, a redesign of Polkadot toward a general-purpose decentralized computing platform.
