all right hello everyone anvedica.eth here i want to first and foremost wish everyone a happy new year we finally did it we made it all 2021. we're here so congratulations i'm excited to start this new year off in fact speaking of which over at the east acre community we are doing it right we are starting off on a high note and i'm here to tell you about all the exciting things that we've got scheduled for all of you at the east acre community so let's just get into it so to kick off 2021 we are hosting the community call number 15 with danny ryan now if you don't know who danny ryan is he's an eth2 researcher at the ethereum foundation and personally i'm incredibly excited for

this call and the reason for that is because there's been so much focus on the uh the launch of ethereum 2 rightly so not to say that was a small feat by any stretch of the imagination but what we're going to do with this call with the help of danny ryan is sort of zoom out and ask where we are now and where are we headed in the future and i'm excited for that one just to kind of get danny's perspective on that but to how we as an east acre community can help steer uh in conjunction with the direction that ethereum is going so that we're all on the same page going in step with each other so i'm incredibly excited about this that is on tuesday

january 12th at 2 p.m central standard time or 8 p.m utc time now if you are just as excited as me for this call and you want to ask danny ryan a question we have you covered there if you go to our website at eastaker.cc there will be a direct link there to submit questions for danny now i will say that this is only allowed for as much time as we have so this is an hour call so we can only fit in as many questions within that window so we cannot guarantee that all questions will be asked but don't let that stop you from submitting your questions if you're watching this video on youtube the

direct link to that question submission form will be in the description if you are watching this on the website it should be embedded on the same page that you're watching this video on so mark your calendars again tuesday january 12th at 2 p.m central time 8 p.m utc time i know what you're thinking as if that wasn't exciting enough to start off the new year superfiz and i will be co-presenting at the chicago ethereum meetup it's a virtual event all the details will be in the description of this video that is on thursday january 14th at 7 pm central standard time or 1 am utc time now i'm excited about this for multiple reasons

uh first and foremost because this is my first speaking event and also the very fact that my co-host is going to be superfiz is absolutely mind-blowing i'm incredibly honored to have the privilege and opportunity uh and i'm very much looking forward to this uh and two because of the topic that we're going to be talking on i think it's incredibly important and very underrated in terms of its importance to the overall ecosystem now the title for this topic is community as a base layer of security for ethereum and basically we're going to go into the minutia on how a community influences uh and can negatively or positively an

ecosystem and what we are doing as the east acre group to help steer and align ourselves correctly mainly with the ethereum foundation to make sure that we are mitigating as much negative uh impact as a community we have and making sure that the resources that solo stakers and the like have that they they have access to them and that if they don't exist that we're helping uh create those resources to make sure that we all have access to the same tools that we can push forward and and progress so again very excited for this talk that is the chicago ethereum meetup at thursday

january 14th at 7 pm central standard time 1 a.m utc time the details and how to sign up will be in the description if you're watching on youtube and in the blog post if you're watching on the website now switching gears here slightly i'm excited to talk about this next contest and that is the meme expert contest which is co-hosted by buddha who's one of our core moderators and matt c223 is a good friend of ours in within the east acre community now what's happening here it's a two-round event and round one is currently happening now it started january 1st and will run through january 17th now this is a meme expert contest so

the rules are this uh the full rules are on the website and on our reddit page we will link to all of those things directly so you have all of those available but let me just talk about it in general terms so this first round what's going to happen when you want to participate is uh we're making memes here and the only rule is it has to be ethereum related doesn't mean doesn't matter if it's uh eth1 or eth2 or or whatever you want to pick within our ecosystem if it's ethereum related it qualifies as a meme so what you'll do is after you've created your meme you will publish that with an imager link on our reddit meme expert contest page

along with your wallet address there's a very specific way you have to submit your answer in order for it to be valid please make sure that you follow those rules again they'll be listed on the website and on reddit we'll have those links at the bottom now what happens is uh we're giving you through the 17th to submit as many uh meme entries as you want then what happens is during round two whatever memes have uh the most comments upvotes um uh will be entered or will curate a list of the top ten so the top ten memes that have uh the most comments will be entered into round two and then during round two uh you'll vote

who becomes the winner uh and and holds the meme expert contest uh the crown rather so i'm i'm very excited about it i don't know if i'll be participating i don't quite have the funny bone like some of these submissions honestly i've read through some of them and they're absolutely hilarious uh so i encourage you all to look at this contest um and and participate and so all the rules again will be listed in the website i will link to that directly in the video description and again on the blog if you're watching this on the website all right and last but certainly not least what i want to talk about is the dark forest community plug-ins contest

now on saturday january 9th superfiz and preston van loon if you're not familiar with preston van loon he's a former software engineer at google who now works at prismatic labs on the eth2 prism client he's an incredibly intelligent guy and he sat down with fizz to discuss dark forest and if you're not familiar with dark forest it is a web-based game powered by ethereum and running on the xdi staging network dark forest is a space exploration game in which the entire world is discoverable using zero knowledge proofs so what that means is that no one really knows what's out there in the game until you've

proved that it's actually there there's a lot more into the game all of those details will be linked in the description the reason i bring this up is because preston and superfiz uh over sort of an in-depth video actually it's it's two phases so the first part of the video they go over in depth what the game is how the gameplay works uh how you would start your account up and just a general introduction to the game itself uh no advanced talk at all just a just an in-depth uh beginner's view of dark forest now what they transit transition into is the uh plug-in tutorial where you can actually make

within the game custom javascript based plugins to help automate tasks and help you sort of level up faster and and become more powerful within the game now that's exciting because dark forest itself is hosting a community plug-in contest so this is a great video to dive into if you're new to one dark forest but to uh plug-in development so this is a fantastic onboarding experience for anyone interested in either of those things the game or development i highly recommend you check out the overall contest rules or just dark forest in general again the links to all of those things will be in

the description and listed on the blog post alright everyone that's it for me that's all i've got there should be plenty to keep you set aside for the week or so i again if anyone is unable to attend these live events we record everything and we'll be publishing those recordings on our website that is eaststaker.cc and on our youtube page if you just uh search for ethe staker you'll find us there if anyone has any questions concerns follow-up needs more details please feel free to reach out to us directly find us at the east daker discord at invite dot

gg slash evestaker on reddit at reddit.com r eatstaker or again like i said on our website at estaker.cc all right until the next time
