The Web3 Revolution by DFINITY

Crypto Valley Association Talks · 10 Jan 2023 · 48:48

Maria Dubovitskaya, Director of Engineering at Dfinity, joins Andras Hejj, CEO of NoBank, and Adriano Bertini, Strategy Lead at Ledger Enterprise, to discuss what a decentralized, permissionless and trustless internet means for daily life. The panel weighs the benefits and risks of a Web3 where responsibility for custody and crypto finances shifts onto the user rather than a platform. Speakers trace how self-custody and onchain identity concepts extend from wallets into the broader vision of Web3 infrastructure.

[Music] thank you first like to say thank you to the Crystal Valley Association for helping us organize this event um and we have some very special guests with us tonight and they will introduce themselves soon but first I would like to throw out the topic of Revolution so you all know the topic for the evening but when we think about Revolution um some important historical moments may come to mind for example the Boston Tea Party when people got

angry about taxes for paying uh for paying for a war a seven year war with France they through just boxes of tea into the water or French Revolution where an uproar a violence led to the abolishment of the French monarchy of course the web 3 Revolution is not hopefully not that extreme someone who may argue with that um but coming more to technology we also have been going through

maybe some may argue four stages of the Industrial Revolution the first one being water and steam to mechanize production and the second being electric power to create mass production and the third Electronics in it to automate production and that gave the power to Consumers it gave them the access to a whole Digital World um Bridging the Gap to web 3 some say that the fourth Industrial Revolution is here um tonight we are going to talk to some special guests about this they're going to give us their Insight on the web

three Revolution and what that means to them and I'm going to let them introduce themselves and just say their names what they do and um what the rep web free Revolution means to them Marie would you like to start sure uh hi everyone it's nice to see you all here in your view well with my perfect face my name is Maria dubowitzka and I'm a director of engineering at the Kennedy my focus is definitely was actually growing with the stack we've built from building core crypto libraries to actually launching the network and now

focusing on L2 and apps to to improve also user experience and I'm not just engineer I'm also a cryptographer and I always strive for bringing Advanced cryptography into the real world and making it part of our everyday life and for me that Revolution is actually unleashing the power of advanced cryptography and making it performance efficient and making it serve Us in force transparency enable decentralization and enable people to be in control of the data um so like in before we had struggles in like integrating those Advanced

protocols that would enable privacy and security for users because it's hard to integrate with like a web 2 and with different service providers um and different entities blockchain is a single ecosystem it allows us to integrate those Advanced electronicals so fast and make it available for everyone and makes it so easy to integrate and Empower users so that's um we have three Revolution for me thank you good evening everyone well first of all thank you for CDA and the community for organizing these events and thanks very much everybody to be here tonight uh my name is Adriana bertini I am adding strategy a ledger Enterprise and The Ledger Enterprises the best kept secret

of the Ledger I think many of you are familiar how many of you has a ledger right now okay that's what I thought and after the last two weeks since the entire world is getting one soon um what does the so let me talk a little bit about Ledger Enterprise real quick so is the Enterprise of Ledger and we deal with the institutional clients as well as the corporate corporates and corporations and we're looking also to small funds and asset manager we are now in Switzerland so we thank you East from there let's talk after they're coming after the tour and we gave ready to use a solution for self-custody which also include governance the governance model

which give you the opportunity of segregation of use so you can give different rights to different people within the organization and I didn't tell you later on how that works and also so on the basis of custody then we build the governance around that and then we give you access to multiple service so right now we have you know set custody plus the staking D5 and I could access the nft market um quickly about what what three Revolution is for me personally I think is the technological advancement of cryptography and uh Game Theory which allowed for the first time to uniquely irrevocably provably own something digital so I think this is the real

resolution here and uh I think we have lost that in the last few years in the last two weeks we learned very quickly why is that that is important um I think that that opened up the possibility of well once you create digital scarcity because now you can uniquely own something you can create markets and that's what we have seen in this first or second phase let's say moving into more peer-to-peer type of uh markets and that is in the financial industry by you know we're opening up we're seeing ultimately art and other another industry as well so that's that's in a nutshell what it means to me and uh yeah the fact that once you have the private key you are the owner of

your assets that's that's what's going to change the game and decent these intermediate many businesses contest so my name is andrash hey it's a pleasure to be here thanks for having us I'm co-founder and CEO of no bank and so no Bank just a few words about that so no bank is basically a smart contract based wallet we have division to enable broad access to web3 making an ownership on web3 and the access to really simple and accessible for everybody on the planet we started the company in February so I think we're the youngest company here on the stage but so it's a it's a huge honor for us to be here

on the web 3 Revolution I think it's an interesting topic like because it's it started on the technology side a long time ago for me personally I used to work 10 years in Banks and fintechs so so it's a very personal thing as well to kind of get out from there and do something and in web 3 and for me personally it has a lot to do with with ownership and making sure that you know whatever you own if it's your identity if it's your assets anything that is kind of on the blockchain uh that you could actually prove that it's yours you can send it you can um interact with it in different ways and shapes and I think like with any

Revolution it's it's uh it starts slowly in the revolution but this one starts slowly and I think now we're at the stage where it's getting really really interesting and a lot of very interesting use cases shaping up from the effect thank you so I forgot to introduce myself as well my name is Angela Hart I am an employee at Divinity I'm doing research Communications and marketing and yes let's get into it um so we've heard a lot of keywords already so security ownership privacy custody um and my question to you is what problems really does web3 solve from a

user perspective and also from a developer perspective would you like to go first yeah sure um so I think I think there's a couple of uh posted keywords I think were already mentioned but I think they're really important so uh web3 basically is open by default so it's a distributed database it's a zero trust database anybody can run it anybody can participate in a given blockchain Network and so with that any use case beat value transfer be it storage of identity be it art via any other asset that you can own you can send you can interact with is built in a

way that is you don't have to rely on anybody else so I think that's and and so the the fact that that's a problem I think it's not necessarily for us here in Switzerland a huge problem but you know talking to different people around the planet I think it's there are many places where this is a problem where people do not have access to the banking system because it's restrictive where people do not have ways to prove their identity because they do not have access to that and so many many different I would say real life use cases for kind of this independence of a government not in a bad sense not in the sense to circumvent it but in a sense to make it

accessible for everybody to participate in society worldwide so I think that's um that's the biggest part that web3 can give to to society and to people in defensive participation do you think people are ready for one degree are they ready ready for ownership and custody so I think I think as I mentioned quickly before we are in the first phase as as we've seen on any Revolution or any new face you have like an organism basically and you have a pathogen or something that come from the outside and it's completely foreign to

the to the system so the first thing we try to do is recreate the model that we know so that we can you know put it back the system in balance and that's what we have seen in the last few years right we need a liquidity for markets so we have again intermediaries coming into the market and providing that liquidity now the problems still exists so once you give trust to intermediaries you you are coming back to the same problem now now we're seeing the next space which is this intermediate again how it's going to be this this intermediated with will be for us to decide and how much trust you will give is for us to the side the big change here is that the trust will be given to you from you to these entities to the extent that you want and

within the time frame that you want that was not available before and that is going to change everything and I think after the last two weeks we're going to see a lot of change in the regulatory space that will also make certain entities more accountable and you know working with company like us making the system more secure um Maria what are some examples of what three projects that are maybe facilitating um user adoption developer adoption right I think I also want to kind of Step um out a little bit and think about like what this web create technology gives to me as a developer right I want just step by step I want to have a easy

development process I want to have easy testing process I don't want to worry about infrastructure behind it or easy way or of testing my dabs right so that's the first thing um so that's what that three technology and also like the internet computer is an example it could give to me second I want to utilize the power of the ecosystem I want to utilize for example direct integration with Bitcoin and network on internet computer I want to utilize guaranteed message delivery if I want to run their file on on blockchain I want to make sure the payment is really reaches its destination so and I want to have a strong identity in

protocol provided by by the platform itself so that's another thing that is kind of I can have it out of the box I can have it in a secure way because it's following some like standard protocols like web authentication that um like web Autumn technology that gives certain guarantees about like people not to worry about the secret keys or messing up with their passwords like all this kind of nice big features and then as the final part so that's how I can enrich and make use of take a system and make and enrich the developer experience so and second and the last thing um I

want to community and the users join in in gardening my dab or um the application that I'm building on the PNP that's an example of like for example SMS project on the internet computer that would allow developers to actually decentralize tokenize that apps so that's another kind of The Next Step that me as a developer would take and bring my my dad to the next level so that's kind of those features that would enable deaf applications to be growing and that would enable social and even gaming applications so and they would be running with a speed of F2 so it's so

that it comes at the price of like losing the speed or compromising security for performance so I think um yeah for me as developed a decent core things that like for every day as a developer that would really make my life much easier and attract me to this uh yeah to blockchain that sounds really great but in the in the light of the recent events um How do you what would you say to to your friends for example um if they ask you about joining web 3 or using a web free application there's a lot of people who

are just done with it you know trust anymore there's a lot of shady things going on what how would you convince your your best friends to say yes join the web free Revolution oh gosh [Music] um so so my best friends are the user names also so my mom is the only one that doesn't use no Bank especially the rest of the family I have successfully managed to perform a work um so check on that now so I think that's gonna make it more seriously first of all like whoever was involved in in the FTX um it's uh it's a penny and I'm sorry

for that um I think there is enough um nowadays enough tools out there to like not just speculate on blockchain but actually participate and so um like Ledger there's no bag like margin like many other wallet providers that make you know custody self-custody truly accessible of course no vehicles so I would say that hopefully the participants that are thinking about web3 or already in web3 are thinking to move their assets from a centralized space off to a soft custody space and use mainly centralized exchanges for

like exchanges but even for that there isn't any decentralized finance places so typically decentralized exchanges that you can use to basically do that exchange so so for me there's no no convincing reasoning to put money on a centralized exchange that's why we also started no Bank the accessibility is not great and so that's why you're working on making it more accessible and so that would be probably my answer so you know if you want to get into it like get into it properly and properly means you own your private Keys your own your assets your own digital identity and everything that comes with that you should work

uh well first of all my sync when he goes through everybody the financial loss is the consequence of the last recent event with FDX but I think for me what I would say to those people uh is this is more like a proof of our how our technology is working better than the previous technology and the reason is that we are as again as again mentioned before decent the mediating uh the financial industry and more importantly we are lowering the social cost of using intermediaries to the extent that those intermediaries cannot be trust as we have seen recently so I think we need to develop more technology to ensure that even the level of trust that is necessary is taken care of with technology that can prove you know that

this these these entities you know are running business business according to the person expectation and we've been talking about proof of Reserve we're talking about some technical solution that we want to implement but the the way I will convince the person that's still skeptical is just try to do a transaction in the regular system trying to use this system and just tell me the difference in terms of cost speed and execution that's that's the best argument just try and Maria as a cryptographer well how would you convince someone to use web 3 platforms sure I want to first of all want to call Adriana and

basically say that I was also sympathizing to a lot of people who were affected by the recent events and I am also myself considered blockchain space to be a mix um a mix of different things and someone more trustworthy than the others but I I'm a big believer in in technology technology that doesn't kind of let things collapse and the more we embrace the technology and develop it further the more we provide it in a very accessible and user-friendly way to users using standard protocols using secure Hardware

that is easy to use and take takes care of managing your keys then in the long run the technology will will prove it's like the right to exist and it will shine and yeah those things who are based on the right foundation will will develop and grow and that would convince people just to see what's the underlying and what's behind to the face of every project and to some due diligence first and Trust technology so how do you think well a web 3 will evolve let's say in the next five to ten years how do you think what free will influence everybody's lives in the near

future um maybe you can touch on the regulatory landscape Adriana you already mentioned that and how do we see user adoption and just security and peace of mind in a user's mind in the next five to ten years yeah so I think there's still a learning curve obviously the technology is fairly new like if you compare with the internet you know 1971 was an open ad or like few gigs and to send an email to I don't know how much time and lines of code now you know a grandma can just wipe the finger and somebody it's gonna take time to get there uh we are working a ledger but in the industry as well to

build the user interface the uh you know the user experience that will allow to get to that point but it naturally takes Cycles I think that you know events like you know the one that just happened accelerate the cycle we are seeing more more adoption both on the Enterprise side and on the user side and I think the important things that that this latest uh events kind of push forward is the need to build technology that allows to survive in the intermediate period when people move to South custody which we're looking probably like 10 years plus when everybody is is on the world uh and this technology is proof of Reserve is one of that but also I think they're going to be more regulatory

standard coming and we're going to work to implement those so that enterprises can be trusted more and you know exchanges and Equity provider can prove to the public that you know they are trustworthy so we're we're going to work over that um five to ten years um many of the industry I think um what three over the next five to ten years will hopefully evolve into something very similar to web 2 in the sense that um you know you don't talk about TCP and HTTP too and you know like you know there there are talks around that that

you know as normal day-to-day person you don't talk about that with your friends and family so um I think my hope is in the next five to ten years very similar with web 3 the technology that enables all the cool things that we talked about will be here and we'll be you know open to use to anybody and will allow a lot of very interesting use cases from opening your car you know with your wallets to you know buying tickets to having coupons you know in negro with with nfts all these you know fun and useful use cases in a way that for the end user the experience is really simple not not the first thing that he notices so so we can

still geek out that cryptography and zero knowledge proofs while you know normal users they can they can take their micro cordless card and say you know I just got another nfts the technology on the line will be bad so we need to abstract you need to abstract them I think that's that's it Maria what do you think whoever the internet computer be and will we be all on Y3 or how do you see the transition from web 2 to web 3 evolving yeah I guess I see more world of uh we have two and with three kind of a big borderless in some sense also to agree with the what others was saying we shouldn't only Define the web free by

those kind of features that are unique for it like decentralization or transparency or I don't know proof or immutability um we we should be able to run cool apps on web3 ecosystem on blockchain and I try developers by the cool use cases great services that are provided by the platform and the different apps and and see no difference in performance and experience on on their three so that is more driven by great use cases and all these nice things like decentralization and community engagement and transparency that is enforced by

technology or just enabled by default and that's the the new reality now and another thing I wanted to mention as I said it's more or less like we shouldn't just kind of forget about that too right it's a big thing to forget about uh how about we rather make it kind of work with battery how about swim and that's what also we're trying to do with internet computer we make this feature of HTTP out course with blockchain can covet 2 world because we we cannot just forget what exists it's a big world to forget so how about we just make it work seamlessly and then the another aspect of boardless is there are so many blockchains around there right and

internet computer is one of them but there are many others and they all have kind of different properties values and how about we provide also more or less experience for users to make you use of different blockchains without Bridges without having different trust models I think that's also we're trying to work towards I guess we have an example with there with Bitcoin integration without bridge but I guess would expand more it's called offensive War blockchain Singularity but I would like consider it more like yeah more or less experience across web 2 web 3 and all other like micro worlds of software three right so

be a nice future thank you so I would like to open the door now if any questions um we can use the microphones please yes here in the front please tell us your name please um Martin hi welcome thank you great uh everybody talks about went through decentralization peer-to-peer and so on but if we look at

industrial applications as well which is going to be massive the problem I find today because all the blockchains we have and everything won't that party secured multi-party computation exists but it's so slow you can take a vacation and you need a power station in between right so my question is have you seen or can you see I call it decentralized multi-party computation is secured away that is ultra fast and I call it instead of a power station a computer center you have something like the power requirements of smartphones

where are we and how long will that take question thank you so I think okay so I think security and convenience Unfortunately they don't go together and cryptography is also very complex those are the two limiting factors uh we spend our day electric to basically try to close that Gap and try to offer something as you mentioned I agree that you know so there are two things one is the so I'll talk about funds in specific and recoverability of funds so that part is already taken care of because you

will need only you know the keys to recover the funds so the speed uh is as fast as the blockchain allow you to go right um but if you want to do industrial application then you need to introduce you know more level of complexity that you know first we're building the first layer and then we're going to abstract it up so we are now talking about Layer Two in many blockchains you know things are coming but because of the evolution of the you know cryptography as a technology and the work is going to take time how much time to answer that question I wish I I don't know the answer to that everybody would love to note that um think we're going to be probably in a

good place like 20 years from now oh really wow it'll take it'll take some times before you have full industrial application in fact it will take sometimes even to a full usability of layer one like by people like the percentage of people using this technology is still too small but I also wanted to just highlight yes the full General secure multi-party computation is probably yes yes from now on but we should also see how much progress the in terms of efficiency could form will be made in Meridian the very few recent years so I think if we

and like actually working on internet computer and like for example working on this threshold ecdsa which seemed to be quite um yeah inefficient when you think about it actually we did make it efficient I think if one focuses on concrete use cases and then tailor cryptography to solve those use cases then I think in terms of efficiency we can be in much better place and it's it's quite impressive how much progress cryptography made in terms of efficiency not that far away from from making them yeah work for us thank you and uh just one small comment to this I think the this multi-party conversation in general

purpose sense you know I was listening a few few weeks back to a talk about layer three zero mileage Roll-Ups um which allow you to exactly do that on a smartphone um the let's say that the industrial or personal use of that such that it's accessible and you don't freak people out without two phds about latest three of us and the exact case marker you like okay that I think that will like take the time because parts of the technology are there but then you need to iterate three four times over it until it becomes something that you would actually like to use in an industrial setup if I can determine I don't think

in fact what you just said I think is in line so I think the problem is the actual you know I write into that technically that will they sometimes but not as much I think the industrialization the point of industrialization like when everybody will use this technology like within 14 years since the birth of Bitcoin if you look the last 14 years thanks for your comments and my whole adoration for what you do I just hate to bring you a little bit back to reality I'm just trying you're working in a in a confidential project

and I'm just trying to get everybody on pgp and there's no hope there's no hope you know you can install an add-on and Outlook it's very simple you can use a Thunderbird it's embedded people just don't do it they're they're lazy now my question to you and you know maybe a little feedback uh I'm an old fart if I look at the other people here and you all know what D5 and B app and Q app and whatnot is um I don't I can read it I'm a massage subscriber blah blah blah but I don't have the time so if you want to have people adopt your your stuff just talk like normal people

okay we don't know what you are in the D5 it's just like Mumbo jumper girls so my question to you is for each of the three people here what in your view is the next killer ad that my and your mom will use how am I gonna get my mom who uses Facebook to get on with three and why why okay

I'm so excited I think I'll start with the less controversial answer so I think you know with no Bank we have Christina here it was kind of taking everything I say and then kind of doing five filters over it so everything comes kind of out in on the on the website it's such that it's not the solute by marble people and so we have this conversation a lot about like the thing that we say I think you know that's what I was saying before like it's a bit keeping out in this context which I think is important it's a fair I think um on your progression like what's the next big thing in Western why with people who needed because I think my point before was I'll repeat on that so

there are certain things where it makes sense to use that technology and also for any particular use because our identity and our things we're used already today so Amigos is a perfect example where it's a very closed ecosystem in middle schoolers and so if you want to open that ecosystem you need a platform that is open and so if Migos is the the brand that will do it or if it's another brand we will see um so we're specifically with no Bank we're using our platform to do these kind of things where the user actually does not have a visual idea that he's on the blockchain he doesn't need to know that he has an open ecosystem as a

compared to you know traditional web 2 where we did open Banking and integration with like many many you know Partners I can tell you that from a maintenance and integration perspective because it's an open ecosystem because it's on this you know single source of truth if you like um it's it's much simpler yeah and so you as a user you should not throwing cumulus is you know as an example to all that things that you've already used today I don't think you used change it's just the you can go into social media to articles where you publish onto your identity you receive payments for that you can do many many things but the users should not know if the consumer

should not generate the publisher doesn't need to know it it's a different technology for very similar use cases that's it okay the controversial ad serious I think particular app is obvious if you look at the crypto Market who is the one that has the largest market cap it's Bitcoin and the reason is very simple I think the Simplicity and the rationale why people should should use it to your point you know as as the micro economic environment change you know people might want to move uh you know their assets or something that is not censorable or cannot be confiscated and they do have full control over

uh we have seen that in South America we have seen that you know when run to Banks happens and people try to take the money out of the banks and banks are closed uh the only alternative is to use that as a former payment in addition to that there's a very strong push on payments because Merchants right now obviously pay a markup on their transactions the Visa Mastercard and there's a very compelling use case to have you know a method of payment using Bitcoin like lightning a network for instance that will reduce the cost to nearly zero so there is really a very strong compelling case to use it so we can talk about the very interesting lovely project that we work every day which are amazing right

but the reality of the market is the market is going to use something that's super simple and super needed and if it's not you know it's going to take time to get there once they're on board you know once they are in the in the crypto space they own Bitcoin in their own ethereum then they can we can enable all the other peer-to-peer services that are so interesting well first of all I want to agree with you because I think we as crypto gigs uh finished this I really like a little bit on another plan is to get down to earth with the uh reaching users like in the majority so and we're working hard on

that but it is um like I want to also agree with Andres that I think it doesn't matter what um kind of app or killer application being running but I would rather prefer my mom to not post her pictures and data on Facebook that is controlled by one entity but rather I would like her to involve the involved in Social Network where they end-to-end encryption is provided by default and for her the experience would be still to just use like um yeah fingerprint sensor or biometric authentication on the performed that the normal way that she unlocks her phone every day that she uses but I would also know that okay her

data is not being used shared misused so I think we need to do of course make the this advanced technology more reachable and as easy to use and then I think any normal gaps would just be used by our mothers and grandmothers without compromising but yeah we we have to work more on yeah getting there is about the fact that we have invalid 9

billion people out of which 4.2 are unbanked and if you can call that Main Financial inclusion easily up all of a sudden you have a low back bank which can enable the addition of two billion people of nine I think this is probably the the area where it is worth within some focus and energy here getting back to just what you said this is a question I have for you guys we have a bunch of uh investment and applications and some of them where we try to do we call it the crypto for dummies right it's kind of the support applications whatever you bring people okay football rugby who knows that and you bring them up to the web free and

you believe it we all agree it fits right there's a big feet then you have those 12 Woods see words that you have to put on the paper and everything and then you're facing the conversation the research non-custodial white versus a a I'm using the the customer yourself is there any way you guys are too thinking or trying to work on heartbeat on eyes or fingerprints something and get it back and remove that obstacle because we see 73 loss of adoption it's almost every time

so the Biometrics specifically as one very crucial problem that if you get stolen that that's a single signing right like your heartbeat is unique so if somebody has your heartbeat that that proof is gone right so you cannot ensure that when you transmit the signal there is no interference or man in the middle that can take we developed the technology of the 12 words of the 24 or you know depending on what schema you use because we think that's the simplest possible way in terms of risk of you compromising your own key

and it has been thought out like there is like Improvement proposal like which is like uh technical scripts that you know that they're shared uh within open source software that Define what is the easiest way to do it so there are people that actually thought oh it's a very long time what would be the easiest way to do it and these three shows that you know writing that that works down is the easiest way in addition the words allow you to wouldn't advise any of you to try that but some people do to memorize it to create a phrase make you reminded so it also allow you um you know to to fight confiscation if

you live in this tutorial government and need to escape like use cases of that because the the second problem is also you want to create something that is available for the entire industry to use in different in different use cases if you you know develop something that is very specific then it can only be used in that context so the The Proposal of the 12 or 24 words is a proposal that is large enough to allow multiple use cases um one alternative that we have defined in the industry is adding multiple signature so that will allow you to play and who owns what at which time and how their keys come together so we are developing methodology to allow you to to you know to reduce the risk and make

it a little bit simpler but it's again back to what we were saying before that it takes time to to make it user-friendly and we have done like knowledge I'm saying the industry have now done a great job because we have focused a lot on the infrastructure and uh technical problem and not as much on the user but it's coming so that's that's what we're working on now now we are seriously putting off effort on wallet user interface and making this technology I just wanted to say that we already supported face ID as a matter of getting access to your keys and uh log into your

knowledge on internet computer so we do support this product called technology standard called bad button and that is if any device manufacturer full manufacturer laptop manufacturer supports this standard protocol then all you need to do all your keys that are actually key is to to use your cryptocurrency or login to establish a session towards your app or control your app is placed in the secure element within this device and it can be your MacBook or your iPhone or your Android phone and to like make use of this Keys what you need to do is to authenticate your device so I can log into my I don't

know analyze stuff on internet computer by using my face ID now because we support this protocol and this protocol is supported by various number of browsers devices and that actually bridges that makes it first of all very familiar experience for users because they would use their Biometrics or like other ways to also support security devices like secure kinds of the keys Ledger um but also with that technology which supported by by other devices it's really very kind of conventional way for users to authenticate and like all this worry about remembering the passwords is kind of taken away from the users

because all your keys are stored securely in your device so I think with supporting um yeah this technology we kind of enable that you're gonna have an argument together yeah so the third part to this is so we um you know when we started no Bank we took exactly these problems that we described and started to develop you know different methods to recover without the secret race um and so we had an argument before we wanted to talk actually like you know which one is is easier it's a one-time password or a social recovery which are your Banker or your wife or your friends

easier than uh 12C phrases um and you know we believe it is and I think the you know the industry has such there's a big workout going on to health abstraction on the protocol level that basically tries to implement a lot of these things directly onto the blockchain so that's why you know you have a wallet that you have to see price or you have the private key or you have something where all that logic is ingrained into your smartphone fact and we have that much required although on the smart contract below and that's achieved the same thing with different philosophies all kinds of choices to the users and

then they can use multiple with the more security or the most convenient for them but I guess we do provide the technology is a long discussion yeah I mean that the original design you know this technology also had the idea of taking off personhood from your education so if you're introduced by metrics you're kind of linking your identity to that and the regional design we don't want that to happen they prefer pseudonymity where you can tell to the world that it's you but they don't know who you is and that allows use cases and the reason is that the

design was supposed to work for very hostile environments so that if people find yourself investigation you know they have a way not to leave their personhood to the you know to the funds or to the up to the assets so you know I I think there could be some use cases very interesting uh and you can divide it in tears based on the use cases and for sure like Biometrics will make it easier but I I honestly think that there is some privacy answer for sure and also some some security concerns thank you thank you also sorry closer to that you do not want your high to be chopped out

for you have a solution that's also nice nice thing to make sure it doesn't happen so I propose the um I propose to continue the discussion over Vine and professions uh thank you all for joining us and thank you for your interesting questions I'm Maria uh Adriana and I'm Josh thank you for participating in the panel discussion and they are also here for further questions and discussion debate and whatever you like thank you thank you [Applause] [Music]
