Making Blockchain Anarchist Again: NymVPN

Web3 Summit 2024 · 21 Aug 2024 · 26:49

Harry Halpin, founder of Nym, argues for a return to blockchain's anarchist and privacy-focused roots at Web3 Summit 2024, presenting NymVPN as a mixnet-based alternative to conventional VPNs. He covers how Nym's mixnet architecture obscures metadata, not just content, in ways that standard VPN providers can't, protecting users from network-level surveillance. The talk connects privacy infrastructure back to the cypherpunk values Halpin argues the blockchain space has drifted away from.
