InterPlanetary Consensus: Scaling the open data economy

Protocol Berg 2023 · 15 Sept 2023 · 25:58

Molly Mackinlay examines how the InterPlanetary File System can scale into a genuinely open data economy, tracing the consensus and incentive design questions that arise once peer-to-peer storage moves from experimental network to global infrastructure. Speaking at Protocol Berg 2023, a gathering focused on decentralized protocols and data availability, she connects IPFS's technical roadmap to the wider effort to keep storage and retrieval decentralized as usage scales.
