Welcome. >> Hi. Hi. M check. Can everyone hear me? Awesome. Hi. Uh I'm here to talk about the the interaction of India and web 3 as in India in the fabric of web 3. I am Tabir Gohill. I'm the founder of company called web3 events and micro capital. Uh and I am here with my friend Rashikesh. He's the founder of loops house and we are representing tendia that the largest the largest stage of the web 3 in India.

I like to think that India and web 3 are two words but exactly same thing. India represents the freedom and the diversity in harmony. We are the largest democracy in the world. The most diverse country in the world. Uh every 200 200 200 kilometer we travel the language changes the culture changes the food changes and still all of us live in amazing harmony.

And that is the prime example of the self of the self-governance tamong community. Something that the that the web3 ecosystem has been trying to achieve for a while. Still India has some problems like it is still extremely centrally governed. It is everything is heavily taxed and India is still pro banks. Um and if we talk about web 3 uh it also has a lot of different communities a different way of thinking school of thoughts like Ethereum,

Bitcoin, centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges that all these school of thoughts are totally different from each other that still try to work in harmony with each other and they're trying to form a digital democracy, a decentralized country. But another thing is that the most free and the and the talented brains of the internet are in the web 3. These are the these are some of our friends you might know. Uh but the anti-web 3 still has a huge problem like there is no

self-governance. people cannot take care of their own funds. They don't know internet hygiene and they don't care about their own data. Okay? They just want to use the internet. Uh but I strongly believe that India or Indians and web 3 can help each other. uh because India is the largest crypto user population in the world from the entire blockchain activity for entire web 3 more than 15.2% 2% activity is contributed by Indians.

Every third computer science student is studying specifically web 3 in India and also India has the largest grassroot network of the web3 communities and uh developed by a lot of communities that are present here. Plus blockchain ecosystem and the web 3 has been trying to teach people how to transact online but India and Indian has been doing it for more than 3 to 5 years. The this is at least 10 to 50 times higher TPS higher volume and th amount than any blockchain

or all the blockchains combined that we allendians do every day. and um all the recent activities that Indians and Pendian community has been doing towards the web 3 and theum ecosystem. My friend Rashik will tell you about it. Hi.

>> So, uh how many of you here have been part of any Road to Defcon event uh that held? Okay. Awesomes. Any like mentors or speakers in the house? Okay. We have like three hands here. Awesome. Okay. So with the support from Defcon team we all organized from various cities organized 72 road to defcon events via thousands of students developers and builders were onboarded into web3 ecosystem right before devcon. Apart from that 30 plus events were conducted by you know simply community support onboarding like different sponsors and like partners who

collaborated with one another and make this 30 events possible and huge shout out to the uh like organizations like ETH India Mumbai defolio onenuju web3 events and it gujarat who made this event successful on top of it 100 students were sponsored by web3 events. They raised money via crowdfunding and also special thanks to Defcon who also helped to get Defcon tickets and helped these students to uh you know experience the atmosphere and get the you know knowledge from these events and web3 events also sponsored their stay as well as travel and made

the dreams of this 100 builders possible. at Loop's house to celebrate 11 years of Ethereum. We organized 11 weekends of builder challenges across like different domains like u you know starting from like onchain art onchain gaming and also like you know ZK knowledge then like talk about like X42 and all every other like topic that relates with India with the Indian problem settments. The problem statements given to this like participants were at the grassroot level of India as in like what every Indian you know like faces and trying to build solutions on top of it. What were the

result out of it? We'll see shortly but like you know these were the themes which were based on the different locations in India and the culture of India. So the outcome was like we had 500 plus builders part of this initiative and over 472 projects were built on Ethereum in this 11 weekends. So what are the different opportunity that India is providing if you are someone looking at India and to establish uh the your presence in web3 world in India. So why India and why now is the topic. The biggest thing now is that India is the ultimate hedge against

an AI bubble. That was the recent uh statement provided by JP Morgan. That says a lot. Then the major point here is that you will never be lacking about like talent. You will have like 1.5 million engineers graduate every year. And uh as like Abby mentioned that every 1 in3 builder is actually learning web 3 which means that when you're looking out uh at this talent network you already know that these folks are already wellversed with the concepts in web 3. At the same time there are different opportunities like there's a gift city established in Gujarat where you get to enjoy like tax-free benefits for up to 20 years.

talking more about it that now it's defcon 8 is you know this is one of the most important milestone in web 3 as well as like for the Indian web3 ecosystem because like this is one of the best time to happen in India so Indian all government also supported uh this entire like initiative wherein the government of India played a very important role cyber crime department played a very important role police department have been you might be like looking around that they have been like coordinating hand inhand with every organizer and every attendee over here and especially if you have arrived on like Mumbai airport you would have seen like how uh immigration department have also helped out in making all this like

workflow happen. So this is actually a perfectly timed opportunity to leverage the existing community base that we have in India to have the different culture and like you know immerse into the culture while enjoying the dev power that India has at the moment and at the same time the crypto holders mind share is also pretty big. So what we are doing this week uh for these four days at India hub is that we are focusing on the crops principles of like Ethereum starting with like today we had like some awesome sessions on like uh census resistance it would be followed by opensource tomorrow then we'll also talk about like previously

where we'll be like having sessions around uh like zero knowledge proofs how you can build your own DAPs we are not just doing talks but rather it would be like in-house builder sessions followed by a builder challenge where you would be evaluated then and there and help you improvise uh the dabs that you are going to build. So less talks and more of like action is what you are going to experience and at the last day we'll be covering topic around like security. So all this like the entire Devcon theme have been revolving around crops and that's where at India hub we are focusing the same thing just that with the flavor of Indian culture. So you'll have problem setments and the like uh ideation that uh we are ideating with

the community members at India hub would be centered around like India region. So you will get to also not just learn about the technology but also know like how the technology can solve or like uh you know go hand inhand with the Indian culture. So that's what we are presenting at India hub uh right there. So if you want to discuss anything about like how we are like approaching towards uh onboarding builders or like what is our thought process in organizing like or growing the communities at various cities uh because web 3 events have been like doing some really awesome work there. So both the builder activation as like community activation if you're looking for it I guess like India hub

can be the best uh spot for you to look at and for builders if you want to learn or get started or learn new concepts or the trendy concepts this is where you should land. So that's all from and uh if you have any questions I guess like we are we can open the floor. >> Yes. If you have any questions feel free to ask us. >> Yes. Uh hello hello. Ah I'm here. Remember that you have that care code. So we are waiting your questions over there now and then they are here to answer all of your questions. We have still some minutes to these questions and uh wow this is so amazing. I'm so impressed of the amount of events that

you created and how many people did you achieving on these days. This is really amazing. And how long do you have the India hub? India is going to be like for 4 days at the venue but the preparations the ideation and entire like you know onboarding the builders we started somewhere around like July that's where like all activation started like doing all that >> from July until now how many people >> uh I think about 2,000 people we have successfully reached out of those at least 300 to 400 people are here >> wow this is really amazing and Uh, I don't have a question here, but I have

my questions. No problem. And what are you thinking to keep doing to have these people working and to be sure that they continue to work on web3 and they can use what they are learning here now to keep building. >> I've been active in this piece for like past five six years. So I have I'm heavily heavily connected with all the protocols and all the companies outside India >> and I'm also connected with all the developers engineers inside India. So I plan to be the aggregator that if any Indian want to you know plans to work in the web 3 or in any company

they they can just simply come to me and that I can help them with where to go and if any protocol any company outside India if they want to come into the India if they want to distribute okay uh still I have a huge distribution network I can help them with if they need developers stakers traders anything they need I can help them. >> Oh, >> so that is the ultimate goal that uh >> trying to build a layer between the outside India web 3 and inside India web 3.

>> Yes. And do we have questions now? Uh what are some new larger crypto web3 projects emerging from India in the recent year? uh Tinster app, Polygon, um Tender Circle also the Bees India, all these projects are coming out out of India if you know any more. >> Yes, but they are so long. Uh we are talking about the recent year. >> Oh, recent year.

>> Yes. Yes. Um I think uh in in the recent years all the tenders that is actually developing the product they are moving out of India uh because they are extremely fearful of the Indian government and the regulations and but that is exactly our team is trying to address that Indian government is anti-crypto but pro blockchain. So if you have a decentralized project, a blockchain project, they are doing a lot of stuff to help you out.

>> Okay. >> One point maybe I can add here is like uh since we are in Maharashtra at the moment in September the Maharashtra government launched a project uh called as like Delta Act which states that all the land records they are going to come onchain. So that's one of the you know Maharashtra state has like lots of like uh land records to be uh like onboarded on on chain. So that's one of the very latest initiative uh which is happening at the moment. >> Yeah. So the chief minister of the Maharasht has a personal ambition of a project of doing asset tokenization of assets worth of $50 trillion. So that's a huge

opportunity for anybody who's building. >> Wow. And we have another question over there. >> Yes. >> As a student who has started exploring web3 and blockchain, where should the one focus on terms of the web3 ecosystem happening in India including career aspects? Maybe I can take this up like if you are just getting started or not even uh you know have some good knowledge theoretical knowledge about web 3. I guess there are plenty of like good community events happening in your city. Uh maybe keep a track record on the community groups. You can join the telegram groups. You can join like the Twitter to keep a track of it >> or you can just follow web three events.

>> You can follow like web three events for that. Uh and also at loops house we are like every weekend you would see a builder challenge that is happening. You would get to learn uh every new concept. It can be like the latest uh trends of like explore related uh stuff like when you talk about privacy there are lot of different topics that needs to be studied about the theoretical knowledge can be good enough but I guess the crypto hiring market is slowly uh changing. I have been asked this question by many folks uh my junior specifically that like how do I enter crypto in 2026 uh to get a web3 job. So I guess the if you have like good proof of work uh good projects in your GitHub uh not just the

traditional ones don't start from like the voting dabs again I guess the times are changing so there are pretty good concept that you should uh work on um that's where I guess like you should start with >> I can also answer that from my perspective that uh the first thing you need to do is you need to identify the field you want to work in like are you a developer or a marketer or a business put Not a business developer or a compliance person like cuz the entire web 3 is huge like uh you need to choose your lane and there are a lot of events and activities happening around each of these lanes. So you need to go there and in in my personal opinion if you ask me

that what is the one most important thing to do in web 3 to grow I would say that is to make friends. Okay, it is I cannot stress this enough how important it is that like all you need to do is make as many as good friends possible in web3 ecosystem and that will help you out with anything you need including your career >> and yes let's come back uh I think we are good we don't have any new questions for now would like to give some like a final message >> oh Yes. Uh I am extremely bullish on India, Indians and web 3 and so if you

are a company outside India and and you are keen to explore tendian ecosystem talk to me. If you are a developer engineer inside India and if you want to know how to how to climb up the career ladder talk to Rishi. >> Yeah. Yeah, I guess like uh pretty bullish on India and Indian builders. I guess many builders are attending Defcon as of today with an aspiration to you know uh make their careers in web 3 uh as well as like learn more, contribute more, be it like opensource to I guess like India to the moon. Yeah. Woohoo.
