ETH Tbilisi 2.1 · April 2026 · 2:04

If this proposal 8105 never ships, what is the next best path for protecting users from malicious MEV? That's the question. Oh, good question. I'm biased. Well, so today definitely I would say choose your poison from the existing private mem pools. Um I am not sure how much it matters between the say flash bots protect and MEV blocker and all the others.
Um so yeah, I think as I said kind of the public mem pool unfortunately is broken. Um probably not recommend anyone to to to to trade there if they're worried about uh let's say a slippage and and things like getting front run. So yeah, I would just use one of these private mem pools. Um That that means that that that's saying like if you want to use any DEX I would say if you are fine with getting with a specific DEX which is cow swap, I think that's a great alternative as well, right? So cow swap is an AMM or a an exchange design which is inherently a lot more MEV resistant.
Um be- because you have these batch auctions and you're optimizing around um around trader welfare and not around profit, right? So so I'd say um uh some trust is involved as well that we've seen a big exploit happening there as well so um in the recent just a couple of weeks ago. So you need to trust those solvers to a certain degree that they actually find a good solution for you, but um if you do that, then cow swap is a good alternative. Um so that's for today.
Then medium term, I hope the prime MEV crypto mem pool gets ready, then um plugging that as a good medium term solution hopefully once that's ready. And then long term
