[music] Welcome back uh to this in-person podcast with ECH Institute. My name is Puja Randan and I'm very excited to introduce u THU here with us. He's from project mates and deell at the project. Welcome. >> Yeah, thank you so much Puja. Thank you so much for the introduction. >> Tu we really appreciate you taking our time. I understand this is the first day of dev connect and people are so excited so many things going out there and on a very short notice you joined us so once again thank you so much and we would love to learn more about you your project and your present engagement so maybe we can kick off by brief

introduction about you and the project you are bringing to Ethereum ecosystem >> yeah so I'm hiling I work at de at metis and we are building the infrastructure for the next gen AI applications s and we have the scaling layer which is Hyperion and we have the data and application layer which is the LA AI which also act as a the playable layer and these both chains settles on metas which is our settlement layer for these chains and I've been excited to talk about the EIP and what you are building with the recent protocols >> right I understand you started your journey with hackathons so would love to

know about your experience. I noticed a tweet wearing lot of winning prizes. Maybe you could share something from your previous uh hackathon experience for upcoming uh youngsters here. >> Sure. I started my journey with hackathons and these hackathons shaped my career. The opportunities I got for jobs or freelancing, part-time or full-time jobs, all of them I got through hackathons. And these hackathons also stood as a proof of work for my skills and my learning sense because web three evolves really faster. And hackathons shows the proof that you could learn something within a day and you can build something out of it. And the good thing you could also win some

money. And I started hackathon journey from my college days from my first year and I ended it around my final year. And throughout this journey, I won around like 30 hackathons around the world. It also provides a wonderful opportunities to travel and you don't have to rely on your parents or relatives to fund you for the travel. You can get some money through bounties in like local hackathons and you can apply for like global hackathons like Eat Global. I I've won like five plus ET global bounties that led me to travel the world. So it really help you to kickstart your journey and hackathons also lead you to grants and most grant winners like like converted into

company. So you can also have this ability to build your own project and that provides employability for yourself itself. So hackathons are basically to help you to learn something build something and the really important part to earn you money. So you can make your first dollar first crypto out of hackathons. So that's the really good thing about the hackathons. >> So five hackathons. That's [snorts] quite a journey. >> Sorry, I I I won nearly 30 hackathons. >> Oh my god, 30 hackathons. >> Congratulations. Many congratulations.

So is it your first Devcon/Dev connect as a out of college like fresh graduate or working here? >> I went to Devcon already and I could not mean pinpoint my education/ work because I've been doing that like parallelly. So I went as a student for the last Devcon call and I graduated very recently and this is my first time after graduation but I could not say I've been a full-time student ever. I've been like more into working and um like I held full-time job for like last two and a half years and I've been a lead developer for a firm and I have also hold like multiple part roles across the different sectors of web three. Yeah.

>> Right. So you have quite an experience here. Well, this dev connect is mostly application focused. Is there anything in specific that stood out for you? Any key highlights about this dev connect that you're looking forward? >> So, Dev connect really brings the Ethereum community together. So, that's the point we are all here and here to meet the new projects and like sparkle up some partnerships with them if things work out well. But the one thing I really love about DIP connect is the like different tracks of projects and even if you here see like the D5 tracks here the AI pavilion and the social five pavilion. So this really helps to bring like different sectors into a single

event because some events will have like mostly social some events just like finance applications. So that's the turnout point for div connect and it creates a diversity within the applications and we can have this like collaborations between them. So that's what I really love about D connect. >> So good as we know that you are also a speaker in our EIP summit. We would love to hear your thoughts on the process the present process and experience about uh the EIP which is being implemented or being supported by project matches. If you would like to talk a little bit about that. So we built this ERC 8028.

It's an implementation. It's currently under review. So this ERC 8028 is actually a DAT standard, the token standard. D stands for data anchoring tokens. So this is built by our LZ AI team, our core team and LAI is also under the metas umbrella including Hyperion and this LZ built our team built this token standard DAT which helps the data attribution problem. So it basically solves the data attribution problem in a way anyone can able to contribute the data and the inference can be done on the data in complete privacy. It also ensures the data confidentiality. So in such a way anyone can contribute the data and they can

able to get the rewards for their contribution whenever the data is being used for the inference and the coolest thing about is still their data won't get transparent and shared across the globe. It's not like that and it will be still under confidential using the privacy. So the data contributed will be get rewarded every time it is used under the inference directly through DAT because the DAT will have the proof that who contributed the particular data and sometimes a particular inference may be influenced by different datas and each data will hold the DAT and DAT will show the owner of the data. So who actually contributed this particular piece of data and in such conditions the

inference fee will be divided to all those DAT owners. [sighs] So everyone who contribute data will get rewarded and this is a huge problem in the AI sector because most models trained on public data and no one get rewarded. So no researchers or no uh data aggregators who provide those data get rewarded only the companies that makes money. the companies that provides the model makes money not the people who contribute the data. So that is what we are trying to solve and LAI completely solves this data attribution problem. That's pretty interesting. Whenever I come across some EIP or ERC which already has a use case and that is being backed up by a project. I feel like that proposal

should move forwards faster because we know that there is a real life implementation of that and that's gives a confidence that whenever it is implemented in a new project it's not going to break because one project has already implemented and that's what we mean by standards here. >> Yeah. [snorts] >> Well, I understand Metis is a layer 2 project recently it has undergone some kind of rebranding. maybe you could talk a little bit more about uh where Metis stands in Ethereum ecosystem right now. >> Yeah, so Metis is no more just layer two. So we gone through this with our message from our founders and now Metis have the Metis L2 as our settlement layer and we have the scaling layer

which is powered by the parallel processing our Hyperion chain and our LA AI chain which is our playability layer and application layer. These boot lazi and Hyperion will settle on Metis and these two chains also utilize Metis as a native gas token for the transactions in such a way that Mis is no more just a scaling solution on like for EVM. It have the whole umbrella of both the scaling layer which is Hyperion and also the playability layer the LA AI and LA AI also offers the end to end infrastructure for building AI agents and along with the DAT so that the data will be provided by anyone and it will

also solves the data attribution problem and the data ownership provenence problem. >> So we are talking about AI I'm curious to hear about X42. I noticed that Metis is working on that as well. Maybe if you can provide us some highle overview of what is the work under consideration. >> Yeah. So we have built a project called GM payer. As it says GM payer is a infra for X42 for the agents to utilize it. So it is a multi-chain settlement layer for X4.2 to so that the agents can utilize LA AI and if it is require a scaling layer they can still use Hyperion and it will settle on Metas for bitcoin

implementation it can use goat network so goat network is also comes under the meta umbrella in such a way that it have the capability to do multi-chain settlement with x42 and it can also be expanded with other infrastructures as well and we have the prototype ready as well. You can check out GMPR website to know more and you can also check out our documentations for that. >> So a lot of cool works are in progress. Congratulations on that. >> Yeah, [snorts] thank you.

>> Well, we are heading towards a pusaka upgrade which is expected early next month. Um and as a deell of layer 2 project would be curious to hear your thoughts and perspective about the upgrade. >> Yeah. Are you excited about anything in particular? Any EIP in particular? And yeah, in general about the Ethereum network upgrade. >> Yeah, so with the the upcoming update, it actually solves uh something really important for lay tools uh which is for the strain on validator nodes. With this upgrade with the uh pure the data availability sampling the strain that is or the computation power required to run

a validator node is reduced drastically. And um the other important requirement uh for the it also increases the blob size and the ideal implementation for the layer 2 here is it reduces the gas fee on layer 2. there there's not going to be a much change in gas on the layer 1 Ethereum but it drastically going to reduce the gas fee on layer 2 and it also reduces the strain on validators and it going to help the layer 2 a lot.

>> Yeah, PRAS is our flagship EIP for Fusaka. So yeah, I understand many layer 2 are looking forward to it. So is Metis. Well for builder what is there to motivate them to build on metis any lowhanging fruits that you would like to share for the maybe hackathan developers >> to use that in uh upcoming uh events >> yeah so first is the utilization of dats and here there's the interoperability between the metas ecosystem so the dat implementation everything is currently on l ai but they can still have the interoperability with metis as well as hyper experience. So if they need the playability layer and use the AI agents

and we have the end to end infrastructure to build AI agents and uh it is provided by Alith it provides the abstract implementation for LAI the DAT is the private inference and the query APIs everything will be provided through the Alith SDK. So it provides a comprehensive software development kit and it also provides support for three languages. Usually SDKs provides like one languages or two maximum but here we we are providing three majorly used languages which includes Python, TypeScript and Rust. So you don't have any restrictions for developing your application. And last AI API the private inferences comes as a API services. So you don't even require any particular

language. You can even use go or even um like car to implement uh like lazier API or lazier data query implementations in such a way that it provides a lot of windows for developers to utilize and the lowhanging fruits would be building AI agents using DATs because DATs help you to remember the data owner to prove the data owner and provide the data attribution and it also provides a far reward distribution. which is a major issue when it comes to handling the data contribution. So anyone can able to build like a data that is currently under in a centralized situation and

they can able to get it through a mass public and able to provide it in a decentralized way and also provide the rewarding manner for the usual contributors. It is a a really lowhanging fruit and considering DeFi there will be like a lot of strategies that someone would able to share and these strategies can help the like AI agents to train and trade better because the current agents are just trained on um like the publicly available data and publicly available strategies. If someone like a a really good trader can able to share some particular strategies and anyone can able to use the strategies to train their AI agents and he will still get rewarded for it. So

these are like the really lowhanging fruits for the devs to get into it >> and I think there are plenty. So I guess uh project met is bringing a lot of opportunities for new developers especially trying to make room into the blockchain ecosystem. Maybe one day we will have a fullblown episode on ecosystem project demo to learn more about project matis. >> Definitely. >> As a closing thought, I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the future of layer 2 and uh what excites you the most? Uh any piece of advice for newcomers that you may want to share with this platform here today?

>> Yeah. So I'll start with the advice for the newcomers. So first thing I would do uh if I start over again is build my uh self profile because in the end that helps more than uh your actual skills because skills are transferable skills are learnable but your profile that takes a lot of time to build and I sometimes feel bad I didn't start it really early and I started pretty late. So uh building your profile because nobody would say that everyone just stay say like learn Typescript, learn Ras, learn solidity but even like apart from all of them you need to have a solid profile. So networking and those things really help and so uh learning new stuff

and and trying to like build your character so that you can able to learn anything fastly without like taking much time and this can be built especially with hackathons if you're able to learn something learn a protocol integration within a day or two and able to build something out of it and able to like showcasing it. So like attend as many hackathons as possible and um those hackathons either get you some money or else like help you to meet some people and most people I have the closest people I have right now I met through hackathons not my like cool friends or like neighborhood friends mostly through hackathons and conferences and as you grow and they also grow you'll have like a solid culture around your social group

that will really help you throughout your life and I really excited about the upcoming updates on Ethereum especially and for layer 2 especially which reduces the cost of like gas drastically which also helps to build like high volume applications which includes a really faster transaction which also helps with like faster settlements and there will be like going to be like more like niche chains in the ecosystem. there are already a lot of niche chains and they I I believe like there will be some sort of interoperability that will arise sooner than expected uh because like lot of assets not just I'm not just speaking

about bridges but more into like a data interoperability and because uh as we move ahead with this agent wave there's going to be like log the agent is doing the UI will be ate by agent itself because we are venturing into those a culture there will be like more agents then more websites more user interfaces there's going to be like interface for the agents themselves in such a way that they will emerge interoperability especially for data within chains so learn build network good pieces of advice and there are so many things upcoming in the ecosystem that can give you in the opportunity to actually implement it and be a part of the

ecosystem I think it was a great conversation we loved talking to you. I don't think I have met anyone before who may have earned 30 plus hackathons. So, Amik, I'm super excited and honored to have you here one more time. >> Thank you so much. >> Looking forward to hear more from you in EIP summit. >> Thank you so much and looking forward for the EIP summit as well. Thank you.
