EVMMAX - advanced Elliptic Curve Cryptography in EVM

Radoslaw Zagorowicz introduces EVMMAX, a proposed EVM extension for native modular arithmetic that targets faster elliptic curve cryptography inside smart contract execution. Presented at Devconnect Istanbul 2023, the talk covers why current EVM opcodes make elliptic curve operations costly and how dedicated modular arithmetic support could lower gas costs for cryptographic primitives used in zero-knowledge proofs, signature schemes, and Layer 2 rollups. It positions the proposal within Ethereum's ongoing effort to make advanced cryptography cheaper to run onchain.
