hello everyone and welcome to another episode of the Del refuel where recap the latest news in etherum ecosystem I'm your host Danon s and to the 22nd of January 2025 all right everyone let's get into it so a lot of drama over the last 48 hours since the last refuel for some reason uh you know it's it's basically all on Twitter of course and Twitter is just like a hub of drama but I did want to talk about a little bit of it not the drama aspect of it but more the developments with regards to the ethereum foundation which is what a lot of the drama is centered around now Denny Ryan the person that everyone wants to replace uh a as the executive director at the ethereum foundation actually spoke up today on Twitter giving his version of events here so he basically tweeted out saying just to

fill you in I left the EF last year due to health issues and in an attempt to clear my head after working my ass off exclusively at the EF and on ethereum for 7 years and for those of you who don't know Danny Ryan was actually already part of the leadership team at the EF he wasn't the executive director of course but he was part of the leadership team already and I think a lot of people don't actually know that but as he said here I stepped aside and the EF and the broader ethereum ecosystem moved on without missing a beat a beat new leaders stepped up and the Machine kept running and he said he got the much needed time to reflect without being so close to the gears of the machine and in his Reflections he got excited about the E potentially entering a new era not a full departure

from the prior strategy and philosophy but an evolution to meet the world as it is today and as it has greatly changed over the past decade and and then Danny continues by saying that uh he opened a dialogue with vitalic and others at the at the ethereum foundation about such changes and the possibility of being involved in this new era these discussions started long before this past week and are ongoing and then he continues and saying he's grateful grateful for the support but people shouldn't be you know being toxic and stuff on Twitter and shouldn't be making the conversations unproductive which I agree with of course and then he ends off by saying I believe in the community that fights us battles with respect and reason so fight for what you believe in but please take the high road and I replied to Danny myself saying that he's

an amazing Communicator like this is just a clear and concise way to communicate a bunch of different points right and address a bunch of different issues so I mean Danny's already showing his leadership skills here just with one tweet you know you can see how good he is at communicating which is obviously a key for an effective leader but I did want to hit on one thing here in particular and that's that that sentence where he says these discussions started long before this past week and are ongoing so for those of you who don't know a lot of the changes that have happened within the EF over the last I guess couple months you could say have been talked about for a quite a while now and there's been things happening in the background for quite a while now but what typically happens is that the EF is

a big organization there's as far as I know there's over 200 people that are part of the ethereum foundation and they have connections to a lot of people within the ethereum ecosystem naturally right and there are people that have come and gone from the EF over time and there are people that could be considered maybe disgruntled employees or people that have fallen out of love with ethereum or people that look at uh look at something and they feel like they've been hard done by you know there's all types of people within the ethereum ecosystem with that uh that have connections to the etherum foundation and vice versa now what tends to happen sometimes is that there'll be some you know new initiatives going on internally at the ethereum foundation and then that will leak out into not the public first but leak out to people that

may not be at the ethereum foundation and may have friends uh outside of it and they'll get wind of this and they'll get excited about it they'll be like wow you know this is cool the E Foundation is doing something new and then they may leak that out right or they may tweet something about that out and they may not do it directly they may say hearing things about such and such when in reality they have access to privilege information here so they kind of put that information out into the wild but what ends up happening is that the etherum foundation isn't going to announce a new initiative until they're actually ready to do that like for example if Danny Ryan which I I think is confirmed here that he was in under consideration to become the executive director of the eum foundation or become

part of the leadership team again the the thing is that that that's been in the works uh from from what I can tell for many months now and as Danny Ryan says here but the the problem becomes is that obviously they're not not ready to announce anything yet because of the fact that it hasn't happened yet right but because of it got leaked out for whatever reason I don't know how it initially got leaked out but it obviously did people run with it and people start causing all this noise about it and it just leads to all this drama because Twitter obviously is all about uh getting engagement and that's what the algorithm rewards so a lot of that is going on and that's why Danny made the point here to say that these discussions started long before the past week and the past couple of weeks and

and a continuously ongoing still right they haven't made a decision yet there hasn't been something new happened yet there hasn't been anything to officially announce yet but there are all these leaks the same is true for a bunch of other stuff that the EF has done which I'm going to talk about a little bit later in the episode but I I figured I I would hop on about that point because of the fact that uh it it kind it tends to muddy the waters here but regardless of that it's great to see that Danny has has has put something out here and as I said it's clear clearly communicated it's very well put together it's not even that long of a tweet right and he's basically hit on pretty much most of what are talking about right now so I'm glad to see that there now another thing

that was related to this just quickly I'm going to talk about this stuff for a little bit but just one thing that was related to this just quickly is that someone in the community actually made a tool uh where you can vote with your eth essentially if you want to see Danny Ryan as the next executive director now you guys know I'm not a I guess like proponent of onchain governance but this isn't really onchain governance this is just onchain signaling where essentially you can use the eth that you own to signal that you are in favor of Denny Ryan um joining the EF and this is at vot Denny ryan.com you can go check this out for yourself I looked at it before and it's got about $26 Million worth of eth so almost 8,000 eth signaling that uh Danny Ryan should be the new

executive director of the E theum foundation and look this is just one signal among many I mean I don't think like this should be taken as gospel or anything like that and I I I I don't know how much I guess like signal I put in stuff like this because at the end of the day you know I don't want it to be a popularity contest I I think the the the right person should be putting to the right job based on Merit not based on just popularity but you guys know my views on Danny Ryan I think he amazing I talked about it I think a couple episodes back of why I thought he'd be a great fit there but I actually posed this question to some friends the other day I said you know if there was actually a vote here who would who would

vot who would people vote for and I I reckon it'd be Danny Ryan in a landslide but the thing is is that like you you actually you can put in your like political cap here your Democratic cap here and think okay well over the last couple of weeks people have done a lot of campaigning for d Ryan right so of course if you if you held the vote today it would be like everyone being like Oh my God yes vote for Denny Ryan but hey maybe a few months ago might have been someone different or maybe in a year's time it might be someone different right and I was talking to another friend about this where I said that you know a lot of this is due to kind of like signaling in Vibes at the end of the day it's funny when you think about the fact

that what if Danny Ryan was to get into the position as executive director but he was to do basically similar things to what a has been doing but it because it's him doing it everyone starts looking favorably on it because humans are funny like that right we do this thing where we we we tend to follow certain personalities and certain people and even if they're doing similar things to what's already been done in the past we we tend to like it more because of the personality that's attached to it and I get that I understand that I understand the politics behind it but I just thought this was a cool little signaling mechanism that uh that fabd made which you can go check out in the YouTube description below I'll link it there for you now in terms of the changes that the etherum foundation has

been making I put together a list here of those changes because you know I put a tweet out where I said I'm not an EF apologist or think that the EF is perfect and I hope I don't give off that Vibe I think that there are plenty of things that the EF can be doing uh better uh I'm not trying to defend them too hard I will defend them where I think that they need to be defended but obviously there are certain things that they've done or that they're not doing that I think should be called out and I believe I've called them out in the past but over the last few weeks they've done a bunch of different things and a lot of these things were already in the works for quite a while now as I said these things can be in the works for a while

not ready to be announced yet but then they get leaked out and everyone starts to fuss about it and then uh the ethereum foundation does the thing and then everyone's like oh look the ethereum foundation only did this because crypto set crypto Twitter said that they should do it and that that becomes like a whole mess from there but anyway the the list of things includes things like Reviving the ethereum account on Twitter I've said it before say it again it's nowhere near good enough yet like it's it's definitely not but I believe it will get better over time I have put my name for it as someone that could potentially be part of the team that runs the account or just be someone who like reviews tweets and gives Fe back to tweets and says hey I think this tweet would be better than

that one or I think this should be phrased this way and I've offered it up for free I don't want to make money from that I don't really care to I I I know the Twitter game I know how to tweet I'm pretty good at it and I don't need to be paid to to do this I actually just want to see the ethereum account used more and used properly because I love ethereum and I just want to see it win so yeah I put my name forward for that we'll see what happens there but regardless of my involvement or not I do believe that account is going to get better over time uh the etherum foundation also moved 50,000 eth into a new wallet to do stuff with Defi and that's what Shia Wang here actually announced on Twitter and she's part of the leadership team now she announced

this I think a couple weeks ago or something that she's now part of the leadership team now I do want to say that 50,000 e is not a small amount for the eum foundation they have I think like 310,000 eth total so 50,000 eth of 310,000 that's a huge percentage of their treasury that they just moved into a new address where they're going to be doing things within defi on it's probably just on mainnet for now on layer one obviously they can afford the gas fees right so so on there but they they started off by doing a test transaction with Ave and they're going to be using nois safe which they said here is pro proven safe and has a great user experience and they will transfer more of their funds there over time so it's really great to see that it's really great to see that they putting

those funds to use on chain you know dog fooding their own kind of product yeah so great to see that there then they've also been thinking about ways to solo stake their e you know valalik tweeted out saying that he wants to figure out a way that the ethereum foundation can stake their eth probably not with any other existing providers probably just going to solo stake it which in my opinion is probably the best way to do it they already have an internal Ops team that runs nodes so they can just do this like I don't think it's that much of a lip for them to do this so I'm glad to see them thinking about this they made leadership changes that should bring refresh perspectives uh Shia Wang was one of them there was a couple of others I believe that were put on the

leadership team here and you can see that that she's Shia we is already uh participating in this already bringing refresh pers perspective here and doing different things with the defi wallet uh wallet here so so there's that going on uh the EF people have generally become more vocal on Twitter which is great like we want to kill this narrative that the ethereum foundation people just live in an ivory Tower I don't think they do I think what happens is that they want to focus on their work right and obviously they're like well I can focus on my work the community will Spotlight my work for me I don't have to be very active on Twitter maybe that's their thought process I don't know if it is or isn't but seems kind of logical to me but the thing is is that they still need to be active themselves because it's

better at coming from them directly and people seeing that than it coming from like me or bankless or uh you know uh uh the block for example or blockworks or whoever it is it's better at coming it comes from I think them directly and better for them to be active uh in the I guess like Town Square that is Twitter than letting the community do everything so I'm glad to see that and the lines of communication uh between EF teams and external ethereum teams has been improving uh Rudolph the uh who I've talked about before he's working on a bunch of different stuff within the ethereum ecosystem works at the EF he's leading a new team that is going to be interfacing between the L2 teams and the ethereum foundation so that they can work more closely on informing uh priorities around uh ethereum L1 road

map items for example and things like uh inability which I covered the other day the inability call they're trying to do so or sorry that they started doing and they're trying to kind of get motion on so there is a lot of efforts happening there which is really great to see and finally uh vitalic changed his profile picture to a Mady the Mady Community is very I guess like in the trenches you can say they are everywhere on Twitter a lot of people have maladies um I I you know I I don't um know much about it outside of that but hey it's a big Community there um and it's a big community that I I think feels seen uh by vitalic which is which is only a positive and I guess like speaks to the fact that the Eon Foundation has heard or people within the Ean Foundation have

heard that they want uh that people want them to be I guess like more active on chain and do more stuff in the trenches which is great to see and then I ended this tweet by saying there's going to be more positive changes to come I'm hopeful one of those includes Danny Ryan being involved somehow uh but we shouldn't lose our heads here ethereum is much bigger than the EF and it always has been and we should work to uplift nonf entities while also pushing for healthy changes at the EF when needed we are all ethereum and that's the point I really wanted to end this little rant on we're all ethereum guys I said this the other day you can do whatever you want within ethereum No One Is Stopping You ethereum is a permissionless and decentralized ecosystem the ethereum foundation is one player among many yes

they're an important player but you can become an important player too there's nothing stopping you from doing that everyone started from basically nothing you know for example Unis swap pretty much like the most uh used app on ethereum whether it be at L1 at and at the l2s but especially at L1 um that started from nothing right it grew from nothing it started all the way back in I believe the first iterations were in 2018 um and then it grew into what it is today and there's so many examples of this so don't let the fact that you maybe starting from nothing dissuade you anyone can get involved here and I know of multiple efforts across multiple different verticals within the ethereum ecosystem of things of new things coming like there's just so much happen happing it's crazy I mentioned one the other day where I believe it might be launching

today I think revealing itself today so I'll cover it on the next refuel but there's other initiatives like the eth's money initiative I believe that they're um they're kind of expanding that initiative now and I'm excited to to share more about that when the time is right uh but but yeah I mean there's there's so much stuff happening here so I just wanted to to highight that there one last thing I'll say about all of this is that I know vitalic recently tweeted I think it was maybe yesterday that he tweeted out saying that the ethereum foundation B basically uh the decisions at the Ean Foundation sorry I should say are ultimately up to him so any of the like the leadership changes any of the kind of inter internal stuff ultimate you know if he wanted to fire someone he could or let someone go he

could or hire someone he could ultimately is up to him because the etherum foundation is that's the way it's structured right now I think they want to change that structure but I don't know why people were surprised by this like I knew that this was the case even though there is a leadership team I knew that the ultimate power basically resided with vitalic that doesn't mean that vitalic has power of ethereum the network or the ethereum ecosystem but within the confines of the ethereum foundation in terms of their internal structure and their internal practices around the ethereum foundation uh like the foundation itself not the ethereum development side of things but the foundation itself he definitely has the ultimate kind of power there but as I said he wants to change that I think there is things in the works to change that and that's probably why there

hasn't been anything about what's Danny Ryan's involvement going to be and and stuff like that there's just been a lot of back and forth here so on and so forth so we're going to have to see how that shakes out there but I definitely wanted to just comment on that uh there all right speaking of companies uh being involved with ethereum more broadly and being ethereum being greater than the ethereum foundation uh Joseph Luben actually replied to that tweet that I was just talking about where he basically said that the same thing I was just saying where ethereum is so much more than the EF he says there are multiple threads in process at the EF but also the ethereum Enterprise Alliance or and consensus that will reformat how ethereum goes to Market in the near term and then Joe Luben continues and says and based on what I

am seeing there will be so many high value initiatives that become public soonish that your heads will spin best to keep them on your shoulders and not to lose them before a surge uh a surge begins so I I do want to address something here about consensus actually so you guys know and I think I talked about this maybe the other day but you guys know that for a while there ethereum came under a lot of attack from the US government under Democratic Leadership from the SEC and others about eth being potentially a security ethereum Developers being uh you know eum core developers being essentially um uh implicated in selling unregistered Securities or developing an unregistered security whatever it was right some some crap we all know it was crap we all know now it's different but back then it

wasn't and uh for consensus in particular they were at the heart of it because they're a us-based company that literally for a long time and they stopped I think over the last couple years but for a long time were aum's kind of marketing BD um and they did a lot of good stuff in the background 100% they did a lot of good stuff in the background but also in the the foreground uh and and they've been doing a lot of good stuff for years here but the problem was is that they had to kind of pull back on that given the regulatory regime and they weren't the only ones that had to do this but because ethereum is the biggest ecosystem it's the most visible one uh consensus had to do this the etherum foundation even had to do this to an extent even though they're not us-based

they they kind of had to do this and things were just looking dire for a while there but now that the entire regulatory regime in the US is completely flipped on its head right it's a complete 180 here where things are very very positive I saw today that there is a new um crypto kind of regulatory enforcement arm that is being headed up by Hester Pierce today at the SEC which is aiming to do more positive stuff on the regulatory side for crypto given that all of these positive things are happening uh consensus Joe Luben a lot of people that are involved in the eum E system in the US are now waking up again they're coming back to life because they don't have the fear of going to jail or getting massively fined or their companies being destroyed by a rogue Administration who was literally

trying to create law through regulation and I'm really glad to see that I'm really happy to see that because this is what ethereum needs at this point in its life as I I've said in the past ethereum has serious and real competition now competition that's going for its throat and that doesn't care about or hasn't historically cared about these regulatory stuff either because they're not based in the US at all or they are and they actually knew that they were shielded by ethereum because ethereum acted as a shield for a lot of ecosystems because of the fact that it was the biggest and it was the one and the most visible and the one you would go after and the projects on ethereum were the ones you would go after like UNIS swap so I I think that we're going to be seeing a lot more coming out of

consensus in particular Joe Luben has just really started tweeting again which is inspiring because he's always great he's got a different view on things and he's got a I guess like an in into the tradire kind of ecosystem there and in terms of like doing BD in that ecosystem for ethereum he is uh he's doing a lot of great work there of course so as he said in his tweet we're going to be seeing more of this stuff come to uh you know be announced and come to fruition probably this year honestly like most of it will probably be done this year given things have changed so drastically you know I put out a tweet the other day where I said just I guess a few months ago maybe even a couple months ago uh crypto teams were falling over themselves to not get marked as a US

crypto company and they weren't even airdropping tokens to uh US citizens or us persons now they're all trying to basically brand themselves as a US crypto company that's how much it's changed guys that's how much the regulatory reg regime has changed and don't underestimate how much positives can come out of that over the longer term it's going to take some time this is something that I think the online World especially Twitter doesn't seem to understand or seems to kind of get caught up in things take time yes the 24 new cycle makes it seem like things are going to happen you know right here right now but things just take time we live in the real world you know as as humans we have to deal with real world processes there's always types of bureaucracy and politics behind the scenes and of course the tradire world

moves very slow as well so any major stuff happening there is just going to move slower than anyone would like especially because a lot of people in crypto uh if they're crypto natives I think at this point they've had their dopamine receptors fried where they've just spent so much time online so much time in the trenches so much time kind of doing mean coin stuff and other stuff that they may have uh kind of like ruined their brains a bit where they're looking for that dopamine hit that short-term dopamine hit that's just not coming from certain areas and they get frustrated they're like why isn't the EF doing this stuff right now like why is it taking the EF a a few weeks or a few months to change their leadership structure why isn't it happening in 24 hours that's not how it works guys like

and I think it's it's a bit of that going on as well but anyway enough about that stuff there just wanted to cover all of that I know I spent a lot of this episode covering that stuff but I do think it's important uh and I think it's it's an important piece of ethereum generally here all right so moving on to some tech related stuff so Justin Drake dropped a new eth research post all about Native rollups so you can go check this out for yourself I'll link it in the YouTube description below but he basically uh says the T Diaries this post suggests the pathway for evm equivalent rollups to rid themselves of security councils and other attack vectors unlocking full ethereum L1 security and then he's also got an abstract here talking about what he's proposed and I think that I don't think there's any timeline put here but

from what I read uh from different parties that are involved with this sort of work it seems like we could get this as early as early 2026 I think it was going to requ I mean it definitely will require a hard Fork so maybe like mid 2026 or something like that but it's not too far away now native Roll-Ups have gotten a lot of attention since Martin copelan's talk at Devcon which if you haven't watched it you you can just uh go to the uh the the Devcon Channel on YouTube and and find it there uh but native rollups used to be known as enshrined Roll-Ups as I've discussed on the on the uh refu before where their only limitation or at least one of the biggest limitations of them is the fact that they are from what I am aware aware of they're kind of limited to the evm

and also the any changes that you want to make to the precompile that is on the L1 would require going through ethereum L1 governance but I think with the way that I guess Justin is talking about it here and the general way of thinking about it here is that they want to keep this quite simple where essentially you have this kind of precompile that anyone like the ZK evm pre-compile that anyone can kind of uh use on the ethereum L1 Network and build their L2 off of that and then you'll still be able to have your own sequencer you'll still be able to do things like pre- comps you'll still be able to do a lot of other things that you that you you know you do with a rollup model but instead of doing it the way you do it today where it kind

of sits as like a I guess a layer two it sits it sits as a fully enshrined uh I guess like for all intents and purposes part of the L1 rollup and people are obviously super excited about this because it means you get all the benefits like interoperability with L1 you get the full security you can do away with things like the as Justin mentions here attack vectors like security councils and different stages and so on and so forth so this is I mentioned in my tweet where I said this is the Holy Grail I do believe this is the Holy Grail native uh brups with based uh sequencing um and then a bunch of other things spread on top of that like pre- confirmations this is something that unlocks a lot of scalability for ethereum and doesn't come with as many trade-offs I believe

or doesn't come with as much baggage I guess you could call it with the current L2 model but the reason why this uh would this I guess hasn't come sooner is because ZK Tech is really hard guys it has traditionally been underfunded it's only been funded a lot over the past few years because of the L2 model because of the rollup Centric road map and we're finally getting to a point where we're like okay well we have a uh you know a maturing ZK ecosystem for on on on both the tech side but also on the cost of proving side which is a big blocker here because proving costs are still relatively High they're coming down in cost more and more over time so once that gets cheap enough there you can unlock that scalability and you get the the better security here because the ZK

systems are getting better all of the time so timelines as I said kind of murky I say mid 2026 who knows like that's just my kind of estimate from what I'm seeing here as I said it does require a hard Fork it requires a bunch of coordination coordination to get this done but I think everyone not everyone but I think a lot of people in the ethereum ecosystem are aligned on this being a thing or at least wanting this to be a thing and I think that even the existing l2s out there should be aligned with this like imagine the existing l2s or the sorry I should say the existing rollups becoming native Roll-Ups and just doing their own sequencing still they're still going to be able to earn those fees that they're enjoying today and they're going to have access to the ethereum L1 security like full security

they're going to have access to the liquidity they're going to have ACC access to better interoperability and so on and so forth so yeah I I call it the Holy Grail I don't say that lightly I truly do believe that native rups are the Holy Grail I used to say bass rups were Bas the native rups are very similar um in in what they're trying to achieve I I didn't think Native robs were this close to be honest I thought that maybe they were going to come in like 2028 2029 or something like that um and that's why I didn't really talk about them too much but there's been a lot of renewed kind of interest there but also there's been a lot of breakthroughs with ZK that has now potentially enabled this to go live much sooner than was otherwise anticipated so I'm very bullish on it I think the Holy

Grail I'll keep covering it of course and we'll see what happen there you can go read Justin Drake's research post for yourself I'll link it in the YouTube description below for you to do so right speaking of the uh the R&D that's going on in the ethereum ecosystem nixo here has published or aggregated some info on the ethereum foundation R&D teams uh so in this blog post she's got a bunch of different groups that are working within the ethereum foundation on different research items so there's the applied research uh group there's consensus R&D cryptography uh protocol security the robust incentive groups engineering and so on and so forth and there are links to all of the relevant things that you need to know about each of these groups this is an amazing resource if you actually want to know what's going on inside of the

ethereum foundation and what they're spending all of that money on I had a bit of a I guess back and forth with people in the daily grade Discord channel the other day about what the eum foundation actually spends all that money on I know what they spend it on because I cover it and I think a lot of you guys listening to the refill should know by this point because I cover a lot of it but this acts as a nice little bible I guess you could say of all the different information that you need to see where all of this money is going and see what where all the R&D is happening and there is a lot Happening Here guys and this is just within the ethereum foundation by the way this is not counting all of the other R&D that's happening outside of the EF at the other

core client teams for example um at outside of the EF at the L2 teams for example with the infrastructure teams with the teams building wallets and stuff like there is R&D happening everywhere but this is just covering the ethereum foundation so yeah if you have been wondering things like what the what does the EF do with R&D in detail and where is all that money going you can go check this out for yourself I'll link in the YouTube description below it is there's a lot here guys you can spend the whole weekend reading this sort of stuff uh if you wanted to so yeah go check that out I'll link it in the YouTube description below for you to do so all moving on just wanted to quickly highlight this website called petra. WTF I don't know how I missed this it may have been published when I was in Japan

and I wasn't really paying much attention to things but this is a nice website that basically has a summary of everything that's happening in Petra so you've got all the eips listed here with the relevant links links you've got a bunch of resources to learn more about this you've got research posts you've also got a simulator for what slashing looks like post pectra for those of you who don't know slashing penalties are changing post pectra they're going to be uh become a lot more forgiving which is great and which is great here you've also got a diversity risk simulator as well for for um consensus uh diversity risk and execution diversity risk uh and uh yeah I mean that that's it on this page there the credits down the bottom here uh which is which is uh which you can go find the creator of this website

there if you want to but yeah go check this out if you haven't yet I just figured I'd put it on your radar because I don't think I've covered it before all right so there's another airdrop for solo and home stakers and Rocka poool note operators today now this airdrop comes from the obal collective which as you guys know by now obal is building uh DBT or decent distributed validated technology software for ethereum staking they they've since kind of I guess broaden the scope here they're basically building staking infrastructure generally but they have a heavy focus on DF DVT here so today they announced their obal token which as I said if you are a solo or home Staker or Rocka pool note operator you are eligible for a bunch of these uh tokens I think claiming goes live in a few days but you

can check uh where what um you can check how much you you can claim go to their tweet and go to the website from the Tweet itself and and and just if you want me to read it out for you it's claim. o.org please only go to that website none of the others because you may get drained obviously there's a lot of fishing out there uh but I do want to give a huge kudos to Obel here for doing this it's great to see another project air dropping to solo stakers um and and and Ro rocker pool note operators which are essentially solo stakers as well I should disclose SI that I'm an early investor in Obel like obal actually invested in a very long time ago now uh but yeah I'm an early investor in them so just a full disclosure there but it's

great to see uh them kind of going live with this here and I wish more projects would do this and funny thing is is that like there there is no reason not to do this at this point because the lists are available you can actually go to the blog post that obal put out and they tell you what lists they use here you can see uh if I scroll down a little bit here just quickly they actually said uh where is it where is it sorry I'm just scrolling down trying to find it yeah you can see here that uh they used this list for Rocka pool node operators and this uh State cat State cats list for solo stakers to inform the addresses to receive an allocation so if you are a project thinking about airdropping your token to the community aird drop at the

solo stakers and and and rocker poool note operators and just home stakers generally and you can look look at these lists for list of addresses to air drop it to there so yeah anyway you can go check this out for yourself I'll link in the YouTube description below for you to do so all right un swap V4 deployments will begin rolling out this week for Builders to test Hooks and Integrations on chain all contracts to be deployed for full launch next week uni V4 has been a long time com coming I remember covering this you know last year the year before potentially I know that that there was an EIP that needed to get in before unisoft V4 could launch it was a blocker there that EIP is now in the network and univ V4 is finally going to go live and

it comes with a bunch of different features the hooks feature is is a major one here but if you want to learn about univ V4 I guess you can just Google it and see in detail about all the things that are coming there but it's great to see just another major development in the as I mentioned earlier the biggest app that is on ethereum right now I don't think anything's bigger than Unis swop it's still the the major and most used app especially according to something like the ultrasound money website which is which measures obviously how much eth is being burned but like e how much eth is being burned per app as well and unops obviously extremely trusted extremely secure as far as I know the unop contracts have never been hacked and they are immutable on chain uh which is which is great to

see there but they didn't I I think they I don't know if they're deploying this to all of the chains that Unis swap is on I would maybe assume that they are uh so main net and then all the l2s that uniop is on uh but yeah anyway that's going to be completed uh for a full launch next week so very very soon guys we'll have univ V4 live all right so last thing I wanted to talk about today was a bit of something that's that's close to my heart because I got a lot of DMS about this over the past I guess few weeks especially because of the fact that all these drama is going on but I put a tweet out where I said you know I've had eight years of involvement with ethereum so far and there's been so many challenges along

the way but I've never once shied away from them there this time is not any different I'm here to fight for ethereum and ensure that ethereum wins and wins big and this was in response to I guess like a few people on Twitter you guys know like Eric Conor anti-pr synthesis removing the eth from their name as a form of protest uh o over I guess recent drama you could call it I don't know what that's going to achieve but hey people are are allowed to do what they want to do and they can voice their opinions the way they want to voice them um but but for me personally I I I try to take a a much more I guess like pragmatic approach to things I I don't like uh you know I'm not someone who like rage quits things I feel like that that

is done In the Heat of the Moment and is done at a point of frustration it's not really done with a I guess like um it's not really done if you're thinking through things it's it's done out of frustration and I get being frustrated about things and I don't think it's like necessarily wrong or anything but for me yeah I'm trying to be more pragmatic about things but the the questions I got were a lot about like how do you deal with all of the drama like how do you deal with all the negativity all the toxicity you guys know that it's still gotten to me in the past and I've had to take breaks here and there and I do suffer from burnout but I always come back like I always come back and I'm always pretty positive about things and honestly like I don't want to spend too

long on this cuz it goes into like pretty deep in my personal life but if I had to trace it back to I guess like one point in my life of where it really strengthened me as a person was probably 10 I think 10 years ago at this point it's probably more than 10 years ago where I was watching my dad go through a really tough time um yeah this was more than 10 years ago now I used to work with my dad I was watching him go through a really really tough time but and and it got tougher over time right I watched the whole thing cuz I was working with him I I got like a a front row seat to this this thing that was happening and I it was out of my hands I couldn't help him at all with anything

but I got a front row seat to this and I and I saw it get worse and worse over time and the pressure kept mounting the stress kept getting worse the anxiety kept getting worse and I felt it because like he wouldn't necessarily talk to me about it cuz he didn't want to burden me with it but I felt it cuz I was working with him I was seeing it and so on and so forth and but in all of that and all that built up like Stress and Anxiety and the worst things got he never quit he never faulted he never said oh screw this I'm just going to like you know leave I'm just going to uh uh leave all these problems I'm not going to deal with them I'm not going to face them head on and I thought thought at that

time it was very inspiring for me because I was I mean I wasn't that young but I I don't think you actually fully M mature as an adult until you're like 25 so I was like 20 21 or something and back then I was an idiot but like that that was very kind of inspiring for me seeing that and and and that kind of like taught me a really good lesson about perseverance and P persevering through things even if they get really really difficult and really really hard and not just leaving when the going gets tough and not just rage quitting when something gets difficult because if you do that you never achieve anything great you never actually see anything through and you never achieve anything uh long-term because it a lot of things you know if you get into them there's something that bad that will happen

almost guaranteed within the short term or something NE negative that will happen and if you leave at the first sign of that you won't even get to get over that hurdle and then see what the longterm could have been like and this applies to everything in life it's not just crypto related it applies to everything in life applies to relationships whether they be romantic relationships or with friends and with family it's the same thing like yes there are points where you need to like leave a situation or leave something because it's it's gone to the point where it's uh it's maybe unfixable or leaving is the best option but most of the time from my experience living on on rage quitting whatever you want to call it is not the best option the best option is sticking around trying to make a change yourself trying to fix things

yourself especially if you have the power to do so like there are obviously a lot of things that we don't have power over and if you don't have a direct power over it and there's no way for you to get kind of power in a I guess like reasonable way to make change then it's probably not the best use of your time to begin with and it's probably not something you should be focusing on but if you can affect change on things if you can do things like I believe I can affect change within the ethereum ecosystem I believe that I can help the ethereum ecosystem well I'm just not just going to leave I'm going to stick around whether it's uh you know in the really good times or in the really bad times it doesn't matter you know there's never going to be always good times

that's like kind of one of the rules of life right so I kind of take that lesson that I leared really early on during what I believe to be my real formative years honestly from like 18 to 25 was my really formative years my teenage years were not that formative for me it was really that 18 to 25 period and then I got into ethereum at around that age as well which is a funny coincidence but it's good timing um and then I I I've just tried to to follow that on follow that principle on uh from there and that's I I I think that I can attribute that to a lot of My Success in this industry over time but also just a lot of my I guess outlook on life of sticking with things and you know I had some people reply to this tweet saying

that it's probably because you're rich that you feel uh that you're able to deal with these things and it's probably because you have money you've made money first thing I didn't make any money in crypto till 2021 I have been in crypto since 2013 I was with ethereum during I believe its toughest years in 2018 19 and and and and most of 20120 I guess you could say so I don't believe that and I had no like I really didn't have any money then guys like I did I honestly didn't cash out anything till 2021 so yeah I don't think it was a money thing but also on top of that I can guarantee you as someone who's been in this position for a while now while money does help and acts as a cushion it's not going to fix anything it's not going to cure anything because these

things are human emotions these things are greater than money grander than money like for example even if I was like Mega Rich right now even if I had like a billion dollars do you think that I could fix everything in ethereum with a billion dollars no it's not a money issue at all there's plenty of money being put towards these things already it's a coordination issue it's a people issue it's something that we have to work through as a community and we are working through it so I I don't know I I really don't think it's a money thing as I said it does act as a cushion I'm not going to sit here and say that um having more money doesn't make life easier for sure it does obviously but it there's diminishing returns to it it gets to a point where it's like well like it's not

fixing all of your issues it's not going to bring back uh you know it's it's not going to bring back things like I I sometimes use use this example with people where I say you know it's not money is not going to bring back my dog that I lost last year my grandmother that I lost you know a couple years ago any people that I care about in my life it's not going to bring them back right you have to work through that like emotionally as a human you can't just pay to bring that back and you can pay to numb the pain I guess people do that with drugs and alcohol and other kind of uh coping mechanisms but that's not a fix right it's a coping mechanism so if you actually want to fix things and make change and make positive influence on

the world it goes Way Beyond money guys money helps but it goes way beyond that and and uh it goes to all the things I just spoke about and anyway I think that's going to be it for today on that one I don't I don't want to drone on too long about that I have obviously a lot more to say but hey I think that's it cuz I've gone over time here so thank you everyone for listening and watching be sure to subscribe to the channel if you haven't yet give it a thumbs up to catch news L join the Discord Channel and I'll catch you all on Friday thanks everyone
