Transcript

[Music] so slides yes uh so today I'm going to tell some funny stories here there are the low up Spa Panda and this era uh so first about myself my name is shawe I come from Taiwan taipe and I joined the foundation research team since 2017 my day work is like working on the Easter core protocols vacations um the like ceps

work so my first story here is about insurance Papa sorry Ops papa papa is there um so let's move the timeline back to uh 2018 so in last summer U at that time like balic travels around the world to share the Ser Technologies to the new community so he may spend three days in a city and then after three days he will fly to another city um so one time he was in taipe and we happen to found that um there's a

snarky mysterious uh zero knowledge developers um he called himself Berry white hat so um we don't know anything about this guy this he or she um could be a murderer I don't know a criminal and but he did a great work at that time um and very good repositories he shared so um he's also he was also intip and through some common friends introductions we were able to schedule a meeting with him at 300 p.m. on a DAT uh however uh vitalic has to fly

to to Hong Kong for local conference so uh I was also joining this conference so and took the same flight the fight time is at 700 p.m. okay then the meeting went really well uh Barry his as far as I know he's not a murderer and uh he just some really nice guy that uh fight for the right to privacy and we his work was great and we really want to listen to more and to seek for the opportunity to collaborations um however we the time

was limited and we had to catch the flight so um so valalik came up with a solution he said like very would you like to join us to a Hong Kong conference the flight time is at I mean the flight time is in 3 hours so fortunately Barry was really good at packing and he packed quickly and fly with us um I mean he we met at the airport and flly to Hong Kong together

and everything was great he met other researchers Dev developers the community members and um he also established the um the privacy and scaling exploration team so I think I saw a mascot there and then it also known as the father of uh rups so I think um from this was the most uh fantastic unboarding story that I I see I saw and I think it told the told me that so if the web three I mean with the growth of R stre industry and some

postco technologies think the geographic uh boundaries are less and less important and the talents can regardless their locations is nothing to stop you from um building your career in web three industry the next story I'm going to share is about the merge Panda so I think we all love the cute things and it was also at Devcon it was Devcon 2021 so in that uh online version sorry atcon atcon atcon at atcon

2021 um I wanted to share the technology in introduction about Dem merge so Dem merge was the transition from the pro of work to Pro of stake is and so I was thinking um how to describe this combination between the exus layer and consensus layer and then my childhood memory told me oh how about using the dragon balls from reference it was the fusion reference and then uh I Googled and the like maybe the first or the top three came up was this uh pandam

Fusion mean template so I use it so it turns out to be a really popular mean in the isan community um so you can see the penda Emoji was used in everywhere and many documents and also in like is one of the consensus client in bu um I mean I think every client used some AIC artwork ler so it was really popular also like in the also even the Google Google a um when the merge was coming they used created this Doo there

was like a white panda sorry White Bear and the black bear and when the countdown is counting then the two bears would approaching to each other day by day and then at the time of the merge they will be a panda yep okay and even more The Economist the magazine they even like share a small piece of this section to introduce this mean so I feel really con licated at that time because like I code I wrote specifications and then I I it took like

the most of my day but I was famous with this 10 minutes mean engineering like right but um I also see the good things here is that um this was the time when we come back to see the Asian culture actually changed the E C Eastern culture the panda illustration was created by a Thai designer called uh CW C found Bangkok and the main source was uh created by of course the one and only Toyama

akasan and I think I'm proud of that the this Asian culture is part of DNA now and I also want to use this chance because this venue was so special so to share my appreciation to Toyama Sensei and Al and think um my third story is our new story so uh today is the 9th anniversary of The Ether minut Genesis so um I think we now have a much

stronger Community um if this 10 minutes random mean can is part of in history then for now I think we definitely can draw more pages um all together so yeah um so I think it's time to build thank you for listening my Lao now it's oi time thank you thank you hey Make some noise for Shia Wan yeah thank you thank

you now you know there's only one way off of this stage are you ready oh she she said one she said one moment pleas [Music] oh oh little is that a little Bulbasaur okay are you ready hold on drum roll please [Music]
