hi everybody uh my name is Eric tang and um I'm the co-founder and CTO at life pure thank you for for being here um today we're going to talk about um building onchain media applications U so we'll we'll do a little bit of a a technical overview of what onchain media means um and specifically going into how video streaming Works in a onchain environment and then we'll do a a little bit of a a live demo slash live coding uh to to see what it's like to build a an onchain video application using LIF Pier uh and then uh we have our head of ecosystem

Shannon here as well who will tell tell you a little bit more about um opportunities to be to hack with live Pier uh and and participate in the Life Pier ecosystem cool um all right this works that's it's okay um okay so a little bit about me um I I've been working in the in the tech industry for um over the last decade or so um I started out building a an application called hyper public uh in 2010 it was acquired by groupan in 2013 I kind of saw how you know a a fast growing application looked like from the

inside and how how people are um uh activating like a huge audience um and then I started another company called wild card uh wildcard was a uh a mobile application as you know the App Store was just starting to take off uh and it was one of the uh it was one of the Apple's uh app choice of the year in 2015 um we kind of again saw how you know mobile application was working and how to get you users to adapt your application um and then in 2016 as we um as ethereum really started to to deploy its alphanet uh I started working with

the ethereum foundation on some open source projects uh and um and then we we kind of started working on video streaming in the ethereum ecosystem which then became live Pier um so so yeah we'll we'll get into kind of unchain media so what so what is onchain media um the the big you know media always existed video streaming is always existed right um and but the the big foundational change for the blockchain at the intersection of blockchain and video streaming is the fact that prior to the blockchain all if we wanted to share a video we have to first upload it into an application and as soon as that

video is uploaded into the application it is now constrained by the context of that application right so I am uploading a video into YouTube or into Vimeo and I'm sharing the applications Link in order for other people to watch my video uh but you know the video is going to be stored in the database of that application it's going the the way that people interact with that video the way that the video is monetized all of those things will be constrained by that application uh so the the the the kind of the Creator and the or the content rights owner of the video kind of lose control um or they have no choice but to opt in to lose control um in that

situation with the blockchain it kind of turns that Paradigm um in its head right so with with the blockchain um when someone is publishing a video uh you first publish that you create a record on the blockchain and you use decentralized content Network to distribute that uh that video right and now applications can be built around that and and applications will essentially be loading that data and just being kind of an interface between the content creator and the audience and or or the the the users of those applications and that puts control back into the hands of the Creator um the

creator of the video the Creator should be able to uh Define how they monze the video um how they control access to the video and and all the different logic around um how the video how the video or how the media is consumed right um and and that's that's a pretty exciting feature right in this way the media and the video itself becomes the platform uh instead of you know a like the centralized platforms that then are controlled by all these big corporations so so yeah we talked about about blockchain as the public Ledger for the media itself um it it now gives us proper content ownership and

Licensing that's controlled by the creator of the videos themselves and that then creates a much better economic relationship between the user and the platform um so why why are we focusing on video today well video is about 8% of all the internet's traffic today um and and so for for you know blockchain technology and for adaps to to Really gain Mass adoption um I think it's important for video streaming to be working in this environment um we'll go through some high level technical components of of onchain video today um so there's a number of topics here we we probably

won't go into details for uh for every topic but um but I I'll you know kind of gloss over some of the different areas of technical areas of consideration um onchain representation of video right first when we publish video onchain it has to be represented somehow on on The blockchain Today most of that data is represented by nfts right so think of nfts not just as a you know pfp but really as a as a reference pointer to a piece of data that's offchain um and and once you have that reference pointer you can start to use Smart contracts to to control it and to manipulate that and that data um however

only a reference reference pointer is sometimes not enough right so today nfts really just represent like ownership of that data right the the creator of that nft can say uh when they write the record on chain they'll say you know I'm the creator of that uh I'm the owner of that data and then if I wanted to transfer ownership then someone can pay me for that transfer uh but that kind of loses some of the important context for the video as a piece of media right for example the Providence data we want to know how the video has evolved over time right maybe I created the video on my phone I uploaded it and then Shannon made some cuts to the video someone else

made did color correction editing right that that um that Providence chain is often times very important um so uh having the blockchain to be the ledger to record that Providence data uh can be another really powerful thing um and and once we have all that data on the blockchain um there needs to be ways that we can verify the ownership and the Providence data for the video as people are watching it right so I um so um we've been working on this um project called the verifiable video project where um video U where mer meriz proofs are generated with with the video so

that um as people are as you're streaming the video you're also getting the proofs being streamed to you so as you're watching every little segment of the video you can prove uh your your video client or your your computer can prove that uh it's coming from the the video that you requested for right and no one has manipulated the data in the middle uh and that that UI component is very important for for users to gain trust that you know this piece of onchain media actually has authenticity to it and I'm actually watching this media that was created by this owner uh and then edited by this person and and so on and so forth um and with that comes you know

country distribution and data data licensing right one important thing about video streaming is that it needs to work at scale cuz you know often times lots of people are watching the same um same video right right um good example um Game of Thrones one of the most popular TV shows lots of people are watching that at the same time uh so whatever infrastructure is delivering that video needs to be really performant and needs to be really scalable and that's that's really hard to do in a decentralized context that and you know that's something that life be has been working on for the last seven years um and if we uh combine Access Control to this to this scale of able decentralized

video streaming infrastructure now uh we have a decentralized way to do access control and that's quite interesting because that that allows us to use Smart contracts to control who gets to watch the video right so for example um a really common use case here is token gating uh the video right so someone can only watch the video if they own uh an nft or they belong to a member uh they belong to a to an onchain Community uh but but it goes way beyond that um access control is a pretty powerful thing and and there's um people have written you know pretty powerful Access Control engines around uh controlling access for based on geography based on

um subscription based on U tipping based on time right all of these things uh and and that and that's important for this infrastructure to be able to enforce um another pretty interesting development that recently happened is uh this Universal data licensing uh that's happened in the in the rwe ecosystem uh so so this is um this concept is saying that um you know most data should have a license that attach that attaches to it however currently on the internet um over 90% of the data do not have a license attached to it so what that means is it's very this this very unclear it's very ambiguous on how

people can actually use that data right um and and and but if you are uploading video into YouTube for example you're just use YouTube's license and that often times is not what you want to do uh as a as a Creator so Universal data license allows the Creator to pick the data the license that they actually want to have and uh it allows that uh logic to be uh enforced by smart contract uh a simple example is splits right if um I have I have published a piece of uh have published a video uh and if some application wants to charge for watching that for people to watch that video they can share you know 10% of the profit to

me right and and all of that is um kind of encoded in the license itself and can be automatically subcribed to um the next topic is about you know once we have uh scalable distribution and and proper kind of license management um there is we can have like direct interactivity between the Creator and the consumer right and and this is one of the powerful things for blockchain is that um you know the the the application start starts to to lose some powers to the Creator and the consumer right so these are onchain communities around media uh we can have ultral low latency live streaming that

enables real-time chat that for for the Creator to to be able to stream video to their community directly and for their Community to gather around that content using the blockchain um in a in a grassroot way and start to interact with that Creator um and and the other thing that I would say here is that um this really powerful because it unlocks the Creator's Community which is often times the most valuable thing for the Creator right the Creator can the Creator now um if they built up an audience on YouTube um well they're they're locked onto YouTube when they move to a different

platform they cannot take their YouTube fans with them uh in this onchain world um because the community is is revolved around the media that's on chain um it doesn't matter which application uh they they speak to with the Creator you know the Creator can of move from application to application without having this platform risk um we talked about some of the smart contract components here right um the the the last thing I'll mention here is um the onchain advertising uh component um you know often times people people um kind of don't want to talk about advertising in in this context um but advertising is actually really

important um if we take away of if we take away all the bad practice of today's advertising industry of you know data harvesting and things like that uh if we just look at advertising as a way to promote media um it it's a very important concept right that's that's the way for a Creator to get their content out there and for other people to watch to watch their content it's through some form of um advertising whether it's social media or or um you know or otherwise right so if we if we move this mechanism on chain and create transparency around um the way that people can promote their content uh that becomes a really powerful and important tool for this whole

ecosystem um the last kind of technical topic I would just mention here is around um censorship resistance and and content safety and moderation right so this is these are often times somewhat um um contradictory topics right so um oftentimes people say well if you have true censorship resistance then you lose the ability to moderate content and vice versa uh but in this world um it's actually very important to have content safety and have the ability for content to be moderated at least for the communities uh so that um you know illegal content don't get spread uh and harmful content don't get spread right

uh so so there are a couple of areas of of technical Innovation that's happening right now one is um the recommendation algorithm optionality um and and often times when people talk about censorship for big platforms that's what they're talking about they're as a Creator I'm beholden to the recommendation algorithm of a of a certain platform of you know Twitter or YouTube or or twitch or whatever it is um but and if and if those platforms change their algorithm even a little bit uh you see businesses being wiped out right just by that change of algorithm so in this web 3 world we're starting to see um applications that encourage different

recommendation algorithms to be built within the same application so that users have a choice uh to to to pick between them right and and that reduces the platform risk for the Creator for the content creators because um you know different algorithms can be even if one algorithm changes slightly uh there are other algorithms that are also uh kind of providing uh providing traffic to their content um related to that is is front end optionality we talked about this a little bit right um different applications can be showing the same content we'll get into some examples of that um protocol infrastructure being credible neutral this is very important right that this is uh again the core of

censorship resistance um and because people shouldn't uh like the Builders of the protocol and the Builders of the infrastructure shouldn't should not be opinionated uh however the content safety and moderation um tools can happen on the community level and on the application Level right and that's often times where things get a little murky and especially when it comes to local um legality or regul regulatory uh topics the application Builders should comply to to those things uh but communities that use these tools should also have their own kind of content policy right so so we talked a lot about you know abstract concept I want to dive

into some real world examples here um the first thing I want to uh share is something that happened pretty recently um called onchain summmer stories so um coinbase launched a L2 uh ethereum L2 called base um in I think July and and as a part of that activation campaign what they did is they created this onchain summer concept and every day during um and you know it was during the month of August every day in August they interviewed a different builder in the base Community uh and then they they

live streamed it and then they um they had a daily nft drop that s that kind of symb symbolizes um the the Builder that the Builder that they're they're feature featuring that day right um it was quite interesting so the first day this was the kickoff between Jesse poock who was the creator of base and Brian Armstrong who was the who is the CEO of of coinbase and and some interesting data here right they did 23 straight daily interviews with builders on on the B on the base ecosystem um of course those streams were powered by life pier and syndicated to other social platforms like uh like Twitter and and YouTube um they they had very clear call to action

in all of these interviews right so um the cuto action was to to go mint the daily nft drop and and you see the because they were doing this at the same time every day you see the audience coming back on a daily basis um and and this was a very core component to a successful kind of community onboarding for for the bass launch to the point that you know in the month of August base became the most profitable L2 uh out of all ethereum L2 right more profitable than arbitr more profit um and more profitable than than optimism who have been around for much longer than base right uh and I would you know attribute a lot of that to this like

really successful campaign that build a lot of build a really strong community that that got people to bridge their ethereum to base uh go use all the base applications minted their nfts um yeah um another example um is the lens Universe right lens is a um decentralized social protocol uh they they have many projects in their ecosystem and and it's pretty interesting what they're doing so um you know there's the social media applications of course but there's also tools and curation and and there are certain builders in that ecosystem just focus on uh they just focus on algorithms right um so here's an example of My Lens profile in lens tube which is

a um YouTube Centric uh type of video sharing application um this is my same profile uh but within a different app called lenser uh which is more of a feed style um um like Twitter like user experience um here is another uh here is my same profile featured in another application which is called I think diverse HQ which is more of a Reddit style um application where you know there's Community convers like really um uh they're encouraging Community conversations right like kind of like subreddits

um here's an example of my profile inside orb which is a um a mobile app um a react I think a flutter based mobile app that has a really um flexible UI right so so this becomes really interesting because all of you know I me as a user of lens I'm often times hopping between these applications depending on what's what's my use case but I get to interact with the same social that I have right if I want to do if I want to binge on someone's video content I go to Lin tube if I just want to see what's going on um you know kind of scroll through a list a feed really fast I go to Linder or I go

to orb if I'm on my phone right and and if I want to really dig into a topic and discuss with a community while I go to this uh while I go to uh diverse HQ right um so so as a as a you know as a you know if I I consider myself as a Creator in this context I start to have all these different options to jump between these applications even if I didn't like one of those applications that's no problem I just use the other ones I don't I don't lose that much right um over last year right lens has built out about you know over a 100,000 users and you know they're still kind of capped um they're still capping the growth uh to to to combat kind of the spam and and Bot issues there are

hundreds of projects in this ecosystem there's over 500,000 Publications right so every Post in lens is called a publication um but the most interesting metric here is that there's already $350,000 that's that's been made by the creators right the Creator have made that much revenue in this ecosystem um by people collecting their posts uh tipping them right there's all these different ways that you can do onchain actions that support creators in the ecosystem um cool cool another quick example um we probably all know Zora right Zora is a nft Marketplace focused on open addition um nfts instead of some of the more traditional kind of

speculative um nft marketplaces that focus on trading the nfts right um and and this is a really media Centric play right so their their concept is really about um nfts should represent onchain media uh and by minting nft you're just kind of contributing to that media right um there's there's 3.8 million mints that happen on that on this platform already um and they've captured millions in revenue from minting fees for for every mint I think there are charges a couple dollars um and and and that's kind of caused them to take the next step which is to launch their own L2 uh which creates a new business model for

them to collect gas fees uh and and and collect connect um and collect more revenues that then they're they're recently starting to share that Revenue with the creators so they're doing this a revenue split on the blockchain level on the protocol level which is which is quite interesting it's a it's a it's a novel way to get around the problem of um nft Marketplace is not enforcing royalties for for creators um so so we're starting to see this new these new kind of financial Primitives that are happening on chain right so whether it's on onchain sponsorships uh content promotion which is you know advertising um subscription

or onchain tipping right these are all kind of finalization of the content we're even seeing um content there people selling shares of the content right so so all of these experiments are happening and it's quite an exciting time right now um so so with that being said I want to give a quick demo of um of a few things that we've been working on at live beer that helps developers to to build their apps so I will jump over to um I probably won't have time to uh to do the coding from scratch um so I

will um I will do this um here's a guide that we've created for kind of hackers that are that are here um so I will start with this starting point and to show everyone kind of where we're starting in this application uh we are building a a nft uh video nft minting app right so so pretty simple allows me to upload an uh upload a video uh export that video into ipfs um to be able to play it back using live P streaming infrastructure uh and then mint nft uh using that video right right uh so we will be starting from here and if we look at this app uh it's

a it's a pretty simple uh pretty simple react app right it's just a boiler plate um I'm going to start adding some code uh into um in here first thing that I'm going to add is a upload button uh and it should look something like this now I have a way to to click on to upload a video um I'm going to add an input here and and add some reference pointers

up here so that it gets the logic gets hooked up and then make sure I'm doing the right Imports at the top the file um and then I'm going to add this onclick action so that the um so that when the um when this uh when this guy is being clicked on um it'll actually do something uh and then in here I will do this and then I'll add a little placeholder

button uh down here so here now uh we should see right so now I click on this button it allows me to pick a video say if I pick this video uh I should be able to upload it later um okay so so now now I'm going to um now I'm going to skip ahead a little bit and um and add some more code but I won't go through it's step by step um I would do this here um and so so so

this is probably a more um built out application you see there's a little more code that allows me to kind of do the upload uh keep track of the progress of the upload and play back the video so I'll just show you guys how this works um so I'm picking this cat video um I'm uploading it into live pure and it starts to uh and it'll show me this progress bar U well Wi-Fi here is a little slow um but uh but yeah as as it's upload uh I should be able to see it in the live Pier developer dashboard uh you see here the this video is being uploaded and processed um here are some previous uploads that I have done um for example

if I go here um I can see the um the video should be playable once it gets loaded here uh yeah live them was always challenging with the Wi-Fi situation um see we're still 18% over here yep so now it's kind of streaming this video um I can save it to ipfs um simply by by clicking here and you know this this video will be exported and I will get a I'll get ipfs hash back and from there um this ipfs hash is what I would use to to kind of mint the nft right um

so so yeah so so here you see you know it's pretty simple for for anyone to build an application that allow a user to you know upload a video and play it back in in their own application uh and kind of um attach that video on chain represent that video on Chain by minting an nft um there's also um ways for you to to do access control of that video uh and you can use that as a mechanism to for example do token gating um I'll I'll show just one more thing here uh which is more about around live streaming um so so this is an important feature in live beer as well uh so here um I can go

live with a click of a button um and yeah we'll see yeah here I'm live already uh so I can for example share this link with somebody else uh they should be able to watch my video uh and there's a you know there about one to two second end to on latency right so here I I should be able to yeah if if Wi-Fi allows uh it should it should let me play my video uh and and there are a couple of other important things one is that um this also allows me to multistream to other to other platforms for example here I'm streaming to YouTube um directly so I'm streaming

within live Pier here uh and I am also streaming to to YouTube um I don't know if if I I can even open this many tabs here uh because it's the internet is not not very fast but let's see if that'll work now we're going to over to YouTube Creator studio um yeah it's it's taking a long time to load Let's uh we won't wait for this but um yeah the idea is that you can do multi streaming um you can also record this session uh so it

becomes uh kind of video on demand files afterwards uh and and yeah it's quite powerful and you can also you know use token gating for example to to get access to this content so people have built all kinds of interesting uh experiences around this and this is actually one of the core um feature That Base used to to build their Entre Summer Stories uh campaign cool let me so now let me go back to the to the application here um so I want to kind of pass the mic over to to Shannon now to so she can tell tell us a little bit more about um yeah about how to uh ways to collaborate with

uh with lifee do I need to oh we're good wow thanks everyone for sticking around thanks Eric um my name is Shannon I'm head of ecosystem and yeah I'm going to just quickly run through um some of the other ideas um to help you think about um what you can build to bring onchain video to onchain app so Eric's given a really amazing overview um of what's available today a lot of uh the products that are in the live F ecosystem and that the core Team Works on are still kind of in development and and areas for really open Innovation and Community

contribution um and yeah this is kind of summarizing the you know the workflow for bring bringing video on chain um Eric's already gone over you know a lot of these kind of features and Primitives where we think about what onchain video means monetization attribution Providence distribution access control um processing and transformation storage I mean these are all areas that we're just so early in this space r web3 video applications I think these are all parts of a fully decentralized um stack for a video application that are still we just love to see lots of experimentation around that workflow um so Eric already talked

about the verifiable video project um you know why are we why are we pursuing that as an open you know public R&D project that our engineering team is running it's because um you know verifiable video verifiable content content authenticity is really important um both to solve challenges around viewership and making sure that when people watch video um they're not getting deep faked um verifiability is also important to enable New Economic models for Creator monetization through those provenance guarantees so so this is a QR code to the notion repo that has um all of the really deep work that the

engineering team L by Eric has been working on to create um kind of alpha tools for um for thinking about how you can work with video verifiability whether that's um create or sign video and attestation models um kind of the provenance chains and hashing that Eric referred to I don't know Eric if you want to give a little bit of an update on where that project is and what for you would be priority areas that people can dive in to both to just help the tools advance and to start testing the tools yeah yeah so where we are is um is that we um we have a we have like an endtoend workflow now where somebody can

upload a video create an attestation for the video and then for that attestation to be seen as the viewer is watching the video right so an example would be I um I create the video on chain um I attest that I am the creator of the video or Shannon is the editor of the video and then all of that information is then passed to the user when they're watching the on this onchain video they can see in the corner of the the the video player that you know they click on a little a little icon it'll show some Providence information um The Next Step of course is to to make this um you know more robust in you know other in like the other ways that people can use it

for right so Something That We're exploring a lot is this idea of content remixing um so we all know that video content gets remixed a lot especially in today's social media context uh but those remixing um don't really have economics attached to it right so if I edited someone's video and my video became really popular well you know the source as my video often times don't have any attribution and that's a big problem right now because um there's actually a lot of people they would just take video from one platform to another and steal the content to create a really popular um account on another platform that then you know they get to make

money make make make ad Revenue off of right so so um that's a big problem that needs to be solved and and and we think the blockchain can create a uh create a tool that helps people do that um it doesn't even need to be its own application right it can be a Creator Centric U kind of uh content management Tool uh that just allows a Creator to back up all of their video from YouTube from twitch from Twitter from all these platforms to a blockchain Centric world where they can actually show the Providence that that will be the first step and as soon as that becomes possible um there's you know V video fingerprinting or all these new tech all these techniques that can help even identify those Bad actors and and and in

in an automated way right so that so that will be an example but um yeah there's Al also other ways of you know things like monetization I don't know if I'll break this if I click this link but this actually goes to um the verifiable video page just to give you a flavor um if this Erica is going to load maybe like oh my gosh it might work um you can see uh yeah some of the technical o this the font is not very big here but I mean there's a huge ocean of technical topics to kind of dive into um when you think about uh you know verifiability and

content authenticity around around video one of them just to like call out cuz there's someone in the room working on this is delegated signing um so you know the when you think about trying to also solve the problem of uh ux hurdles for onboarding creators you know we really need to kind of smooth the journey to make it as as um as minimally cumbersome as possible for people to be able to take the steps to a test um to that video so youan is a really interesting solution um that's trying to abstract away for front-end developers and designers um models that yeah when someone joins your app they're kind of trustless Le giving permission to do

signing um on your behalf as a Creator which is pretty cool um Eric any other technical topics you want to call out or um no I I think I think we got all back how do we get back thank you cool um next topic is decentralized broadcasting so we didn't get into a lot of the network architecture for Life Pier um but the three kind of primary actors on The Life Pier now we're as defined by by the protocol and in the white paper are delegators transcoders uh and broadcasters um and basically orchestrators are the most important actor on the network who actually provide that uh video transcoding by

operating a node on the live pure Network delegators are who kind of Empower um folks to run um orchestrator knows if you don't want to run an orchestrator node but you want to participate in the network you can delegate your live pure token to an orchestrator and and then so that supply of video transcoding provided by orchestrators is actually demanded by broadcasters um on the network and uh because it's not trivial to actually set up a reliable supply of transcoding around the world that took a few years um over the last couple of years Eric and the core team have been working on um gateways to um provide demand sources of demand for that transcoding um the live peer API which is uh kind of a

hosted broadcasting node on the live pier network today is um Eric I think it's fair to say pretty much the only like um broadcasting node at scale with real usage coming through it on the network today so there's a huge opportunity for um a much larger Global Network of broadcasters on the live pure Network and so um you know in addition to the API which you can use to yeah really easily you know do live stream or video on demand um you can actually run your own broadcasting note but we're um you know that that product isn't as developed as the API and we'd really love the community um to keep iterating with with us on that we actually have a

very active orchestrator community that um is really passionate about helping us Advance um that product we call it Catalyst I think it's also called life pure in a box I Eric do you want to say a little bit about what that is where it is yeah yeah so there it's um it's just it's right now it's a it's open source anyone can dig in and and and start and Boot It Up and start streaming video into it um I think the the interesting um interesting angle here is is that you can actually use this this open- Source software to build your own Broadcasting Service or your own broadcast your own live streaming um application uh that um that uses a

decentralized ecosystem uh of infrastructure providers and often times it's much more affordable than using a existing uh centralized video streaming infrastructure provider like Amazon uh so just from a pricing perspective that makes a it makes a huge difference uh but also from a um from a a demand perspective I think there's now a lot more um there's there's a lot of kind of untapped demand for video streaming in the web 3 ecosystem um in in general so that that's also another area that I think um people can explore and there's some pretty cool um implications to think about when it comes to the relationship between these

core actors on the network the broadcasters and the orchestrators and um in terms of um you know attesting to Performance so you think about you know an orchestrator could you know in theory create conditions around which video content it actually is willing to transcode so you know that's potentially you know one solution to look at for moderation challenges similarly you know broadcasters can potentially attest to or you know get attestations for the quality of transcoding happening on the network as well which um again isn't really possible in like a traditional Cloud Server environment anything you want to say on that cool um so yeah what what other you know

web 3 onchain video innovation ideas are there it's it's really like an infinite landscape um you know of opportunity and like Frontiers for Innovation um you know I think we're just scratching the surface on all of these um you know the first area is just bundling web 3 services with a video specific lens thinking about Creator onboarding you know as we mentioned um you know continuing to explore onchain native functionality um we've talked a lot about that already um and really expanding live pure Network capabilities as well you know I just mentioned like thinking about ATT testation around performance of work um on the Network um you know live Fe a network of gpus where you know um just kind of at the at the

beginning of thinking about AI based video computation or AI based processing um on the network there's there's a lot um kind of yet to be discovered on the on the live pier network that we're excited for the community to contribute to um and you can get money to do that uh we have a a very generous live peer grants program um that ranges from micro grants of $2,000 if you have a really tightly scoped integration with live Pier that you want to build we have larger grants for video disruptors who are really um kind of pushing the boundaries and demonstrating what's uniquely possible on web 3 with video that's not possible um outside web 2 we really love to back um those most Innovative use cases for for onchain

video we also have a um category of grants for open network grants that are really more explorat exploratory around Network infrastructure um we don't necessarily have a cap on that because we really like to see what the community uh can come up with and then we also love to do lots of partner collaborations it's a favorite part of my job is working with other projects in the web3 ecosystem whether that's to do you know join hackathons or joint bounties um joint events live peer um also sponsors um other community initiatives that you know help do thought leadership and and raise awareness and and Spark conversation around a lot of these topics we're a

supporter of broadcast which is a really cool uh Collective of web3 individuals and projects who are asking the question you know what does the future of onchain media look like it's a very Creator focused Community um there's a project that spun out of that called vessel which is looking at um kind of the concept of luxury media uh in web3 we launched it in New York with seed Club um and a few others we just did a broadcast Sumit yesterday here um at dcon Zora participated in that lots of really cool folks at the kind of Forefront of onchain media and web 3 um if you're into that and representing a project see super fluid here let's

chat um come come chat with me afterwards um and yeah join the live here live here Community we um we're starting the live video innovators Community is kind of an altern I don't know if you've heard of the video Dev Channel that MX runs in web 2 it's got like tens of thousands of like traditional web uh web 2 video developers we're really growing the video innovator Community that's that's looking at what's possible with with video and web 3 um we have an exclusive telegram group please join it there um and then these are the other places to find us the all the other ways we know and love Discord Twitter website thank you so much thanks for everyone who's

going to watch this on a recording later also [Applause] thanks thanks thank guys oh wait did you want to do you want to show you can for a minute you sure just say you can okay any oh wait any questions sorry yeah I was going to like clue up I forgot this take questions hello hey hi uh I have a quick question regarding ipfs you demonstrated something that you can push to ipfs does it mean that the user needs to have

their own ipfs getaway or like you know subscription to what whatever pinata or something else uh how do you or is it within the software yeah with with live Pier um it comes with the ipfs integration so um so if you already have a ipfs account uh either pinata web 3 storage or whatever it is it's compatible you can just use that you can import video from ipfs into life Pier so that you can leverage life Pier's trans coding and and scalable streaming to deliver to a global audience but if you want to upload into live Pier that then export into ipfs you can do that as well and when you're exporting to ipfs you

don't need to have a separate account okay cool thanks and the second question is you you mentioned that you can have a some read access control over the files but if they on ipfs then it's on ipfs so I don't understand how we can have both yeah so so for that to work um people usually encrypt the video first okay um so that's stored on ipf is encrypted and then import it into live pure in inced in encrypted format and there's a way to share the encryption key to only live pure to then decrypt okay super makes sense thanks I can help you thetion okay cool I'm curious like what project

I know I know super flued what other projects are folks representing or like what's your interest in this topic thank you close hey hi uh again so uh I work at luo we we build stuff for creat our economy and oh nice yeah I think Lou was in touch with you and uh yeah just canite to to see uh how we could collaborate so yeah very cool love Luxo awesome okay cool there's no other questions thank you for coming we'll

wrap it up thanks yeah thanks [Applause] everyone
