Community Update #10: Validator Workshop, Gitcoin Grants Round 9, and Berlin Hardfork Party

Transcript

all right hello my fellow eastakers today is thursday march 25th i'm envetica.eth and this is your estater community update diving right into it i want to first discuss the validated workshop coming up this saturday march 27th at 1600 utc and what i want to clarify real quick is some specifics in terms of the agenda for the workshop on the blog post that we're looking at right now we specifically mentioned that we're going to be taking a eth2 validator from bare metal or new machine and walk you step by step to spin up a working functioning validator on mainnet we're going to slightly adjust the agenda and the reason for that is we've already

had a validator workshop wherein we went step by step to set up a validator if we did it this time around there's really not much change in there what we're looking to do is have a bit more of a dynamic agenda for the validated workshop so that the information that we go over within the workshop is different for each installation so instead what we've done is i've gone ahead and created a step-by-step tutorial for each client that means nimbus teku lighthouse and prism are all literally being updated as we speak now and will be posted to the e-staker youtube channel that's youtube.com slash c e staker we'll link to that in the validator workshop here as well

so if we're not going from bare metal server to functioning validator then what the heck are we doing in the validated workshop great question the agenda for this saturday is to discuss how to properly update and maintain an existing validator preparing for the berlin hard fork and then what we're going to do is showcase a few assisted tools for new solo stakers mainly the steakhouse one-click installer and the validator wizard and then finally what we're going to do is showcase the rocket pool beta and just one quick note for those looking to participate on the workshop there is an event sign up form we still require that if you're

going to be part of the zoom call that you go ahead and put your wallet address in that's for the pull-up distribution and then just check in what you're most interested in so this can help us guide the agenda for future workshops and moving right along it's not too late i promise you there's still one more day left tomorrow is the final day for round nine of the git coin grants if you're not sure how to contribute or what to contribute to superfiz has you covered as he's created a custom e-staker community grants basket we've got four in there that is the eddc the studymaster steakhouse and of course the east acre itself i've went over these specifically in the

previous community update i won't bore you with the details again but please know that tomorrow is the last day if you're looking to support anyone uh in these grants make sure you go ahead and do that links to the grants directly will be on the website easttaker.cc and last but certainly not least we have the berlin hard fork party and this is very exciting there's lots of questions there's lots going on and hey we're going to celebrate this is a good time this is happening on friday april 16th in roughly 21 days you can check that out at ethernodes.org berlin all the applicable details for the live stream party

are on our website estatecare.cc what we're going to be doing is having a couple special guests describe what the hard fork is why it's important in addition to counting down and sort of having a launch party if you will if you weren't excited enough for this we're going to sweeten the deal by giving out an exclusive e-staker community co-op one thing to note here if you are looking to join our live stream there is a form to fill out what we're looking for you to do is fill out your discord name and any questions you may have we require the discord name to make sure that you are a real person because last time we got zoom bombed and well we don't want that to happen again again this is all going down on friday

april 16th and all of the details and live stream link are on the blog post on easttaker.cc all right that's it for me guys have a great week also make sure you check us out this weekend for the validated workshop and also keep an eye out on our youtube page at youtube.com c e staker for all of the client step-by-step tutorials for spinning up your own validator all right have a good one
