foreign [Music] there is a page where you can link to it from there so fancy um okay go to implementation and yeah fundamentals e-learning course yeah click it dude I'm really uh it's got me excited okay so yeah this walks you through uh the process of it uh this is just the introduction uh I did like a a very

basic uh video introduction there's definitely room for improvement on that just links to a YouTube uh just a thank you for uh taking the kids I have to watch it [Music] hey everybody my name is Jason I go by didactic JD and I designed this course how do you like watching yourself it's uncomfortable this is designed for people that are new to blockchain technology and ethereum and want to learn a little bit more about ethereum's role in the cryptocurrency market I have five modules about five fundamental points it's not going to take too long I do test your knowledge

at the end of every module at the end of every subsection and there is a short quiz at the end but I hope you enjoy yourself I hope uh you have fun that you interact with the module and at the end you'll have an opportunity to earn an nft for completing the course so uh put your put your thinking cap on and enjoy yourself thanks again for logging in and enjoy this e-learning module ethereum five fundamentals all right so uh can I suggest that you put a link to the module under here in case anybody stumbles on your video first oh yeah sure I can definitely do that good advice I

like this so start course yeah and um let's see I link to uh your friends uh explanation of a PO app I I just sort of talk about at the very beginning the nft you get at the end just because I couldn't a poab I really like the animation that uh that he does in this it's really cool yeah and yeah it's a good explanation I actually watched it myself and then I realized that this is a buddy that you introduced me to on uh Discord I didn't even know that until the uh I looked at whose account it was

yeah I kind of think of myself as like an educator breeder like we're not breeding together but like I really want to metaphorically speak metaphorically speaking I really want to promote Educators and so um this isn't my first rodeo but yeah he's he's fantastic I'm very proud of his work um so yeah it was really cool I I contacted him and gave him uh you know gave him props on that but I just wanted to plug that in uh also I was learning how to embed videos so uh this was that was I don't know how much you talked to logic Beach but he uh his journey is not very different than yours he left his traditional job and wanted to become

wanted to get a job at web3 he started doing educational content and he got hired by grid plus um and so the this flow does work cool yeah I will definitely be uh corresponding with him as my journey continues then I just have a sample of uh what the nft looks like that I what the PO app looks like that I designed and uh so then we get into I guess that's this still is wrapping up the introduction just about uh the importance of Education the okay the basic roles of blockchain I want to talk a little bit about blockchain technology uh it plays an important role in several facets of society if you look below you'll see some different ways I like

your integration of video like different like you said you recognize that business walls of Texas don't help it's an important role so yeah I tried not to just read off what uh the text below says I tried to sort of put it in my own words and try to try to do it smoothly without a lot of ums and oohs and stuff uh but yeah I just talk about how blockchain is used the different systems that it's used in I talk about risk um that's another misconception as soon as I said that I was uh working about uh to educate people about the theory is a go ahead oh just is what over and over again when I say that uh um I'm working with people to educate

them about uh ethereum and cryptocurrency and blockchain technology that that's what I'm trying to do everybody is uh well not everyone but a lot of people are I guess they're still thinking about the what is it FTX or whatever but there's a lot of people think it's just like you know scams everywhere or something that that either I'm learning how to be a scammer or that I am uh uh in the process of getting scammed and uh this that that section above is just like uh you know acknowledging risk and that I'm not asking anybody to invest uh anything uh in in any sort of uh currency or technology that I'm just you know

hopefully with education comes uh uh smarter decision making and yeah I I really uh I introduce myself when people ask me what I do for a living I tell them I'm a technology consultant because uh people cannot handle um that I work in cryptocurrency or that I deal with ethereum um and I guess it's healthy skepticism but uh I've definitely encountered it more than once and then another issue is uh and this is contradictory what you say about how it's trying to replace uh fiat currency rather than sort of provide an alternative to it and uh I

think that concerns a lot of people as well so this is just I mean how's the contradictory to well I mean you've told me that uh it's it's an accompaniment or an alternative rather than a replacement you know or or something that uh destroys uh fiat currency I don't know I got a one of my buddies the guy that I was staying with in uh Nashville he works in uh banking loans and uh I think he has uh uh well I don't know he doesn't he doesn't know a lot about it and uh no it's okay like it's important to know um what I share with you or my perspectives and so sure there are definitely people in cryptocurrency

um especially there are uh extreme Libertarians in some cryptocurrency groups who do sincerely believe that uh a certain cryptocurrency will will overturn the United States government will uh become the sovereign whatever uh currency of the world I like I I'm in you know I'm in some communities with those people and I'm not saying that they're wrong I'm just saying I don't see it unfolding that way so there definitely are people who do see it unfolding that way noted uh I definitely am ideologically not there but maybe with

learning more it I don't know where I'm gonna go ideologically but that's that's not what that's not what has inspired me to uh um to to learn more about it yeah but change is good qualitative change is often necessary so we've got some okay sorry I was gonna say it's the idea of disruption and so it is fair to say that cryptocurrency will likely disrupt the existing Financial system but what it's not fair to do is assume that disruption is bad or broken if it disrupts the existing Financial system by by making Banks work better by helping people control their money

um if it makes things better it's not bad disruption right it's not it's not like um we're not we're not looking for Anarchy we're looking for improving the current system agreed uh this just sort of annotates and explains a lot of the terms used in that very brief definition up there um and I still realize that I have a lot to learn about D apps or dapps um but because I saw it I yeah and uh okay so that's sort of breaks you down on that um oh there's a sorting activity which one is open sourced uh scroll down and centralize meaning yeah

singular location right right and uh yeah absolutely so very cool I'm glad I know these well good this section just talks a little bit about the cryptocurrency how the cryptocurrency is uh used I think and uh what is what do we do here okay I have a link to Merchants that uh the I also made some revisions that you mentioned uh about Ave and makerdale uh yeah but I actually I'd be more inclined to flip this on its head because um we're moving from the top things that are least likely to the things that are

most likely uh reality Ave maker Dow are most likely digital goods and assets are very likely exchanging is is normal uh trading for other cryptocurrencies is pretty normal and purchasing from Merchants is is the furthest from likely so oh okay really imagine turning this upside down gotcha and so it's funny um this whole Merchant to accept eth there used to be a push uh a huge push especially from Bitcoin you used to see these like Bitcoin accepted here and I would like search for places where I could buy things with Bitcoin and we kind of came to this uh sort of

realization that um cryptocurrency really is more of web money than transaction than human transactional money like um rather than me going to Walmart and paying with ether I'm more likely to go to an online service on my computer and pay with ether um that's so that has sort of become one of the realizations of the past few years that we're probably not close to being an in-store purchasing tool gotcha ethereum's a platform ether's the currency that's good to know uh honestly but

uh yeah if you're gonna be yeah you talk to me about the three horizontal lines I guess I asked about different uh logos for ethereum and I honestly am I don't is that a is that a prototype logo I've never seen that might be from Adele I've never seen that logo the one that I've seen is is similar I'm trying to get back to it uh the one that I'm more familiar with is similar it doesn't have these up and down spikes it's just the three bars the three bars is very common okay Yeah you mentioned that to me and then I saw this and thought that that was the three horizontal bars uh but there there were a couple that were slightly different we may have found a new religion I really don't know yeah

hieroglyph I'm not sure uh so Talk's a little yeah um let's see what else do we have ethereum versus Bitcoin uh I guess are you able to add a line under here I can I would put fuel for the ethereum blockchain platform okay like that is really ethereum only or ether only exists as fuel for the platform um and I guess this puts a focus on it on its cryptocurrency on its value as a tradable asset and you'll find many

people who will say ether is money and I agree with that but really the purpose of it is to be fuel for um the ethereum virtual machine gotcha yeah uh we can still make revisions let's see and then that we have a comparison between ethereum and Bitcoin below a few differences I sort of break it down all right yeah but I don't even remember what I said the comparison between two major types of cryptocurrency Bitcoin and ethereum maybe you don't know the difference between the two we highlight a few fundamental differences to give you a better understanding of how they compare to one another

cool some uh so yeah D apps in ethereum which I guess Bitcoin does not use the apps well so they say they will say well Bitcoin has script um I I have to I would encourage you to be very careful about any references that you make to bitcoin because um they tend to be extremely sensitive and defensive about their product and that's fine like I'm okay with that um but um it's it's okay to like draw distinctions but um Bitcoin Bitcoin users will tends to be a little aggressive about

um about proving that they're just as good or in their mind better and so you're talking to an East Maxie guy here right now and so uh I'm obviously gonna have differences with the way that a bitcoiner sees things well the phenomenon that I'm trying to address and like in the South we do we call every soda a coke uh or everybody will every any type of tissue is a Kleenex it's a phenomenon where you take the most common brand or the most popular brand yes and apply that brand name to everything and I think in a lot of new people's minds uh cryptocurrency means it's Bitcoin it's Bitcoin and uh I'm just trying to develop a little bit of

an understanding that there's multiple kinds and just you know some uh you know defining differences between the two and I'm figuring it out myself I was talking to someone yesterday and they were like hey how's your Bitcoin doing and I'm like I I don't hold any Bitcoin and they're like yeah I I know you're like way into Bitcoin and I'm like um no I I really I mostly dab will deal with ethereum and they're like yeah well that's that's what I mean that's what I you know I said Bitcoin that means like everything that you do and I was like oh okay well then I'm doing fine thanks I was like what but yeah you're right like maybe it's the South every like the major brand is yeah well I mean we just do that with Coke but uh

you know we're in Chicago yeah Kleenex uh sofa sofa is a brand you know but a brand yeah and yeah exactly it's so ubiquitously used yeah sofa is a brand it's a couch you know but uh people call every couch a sofa I can't remember the name of the phenomenon but it it happens a lot uh I think this means changing supply of coins yeah I guess yeah Supply ethereum yeah volume usually relates to on a like a trading platform the amount of coins are exchanged in a day so the volume and like okay that's good to know I didn't

know that I thought it was the supply yeah I I used it as synonymous with coin Supply uh and I know you're you're doing a disambiguation between ethereum and Bitcoin I just know um in your future modules it's just better not even to uh to include the other platform because I'm so Progressive about so it's it's like Voldemort Voldemort you just never use the name or never say the name or anything like that you know I was a part of their communities for years it's just that

um the people who who hold on to that platform are just they're differently aligned that's that's all I can say kindly okay uh so then we have uh the fourth sections on Dows I gave here I gave your people a shout out the uh my people oh you said you were buddies with them I can't remember uh oh yeah yeah they're the Evie Mavericks the EV Mavericks that was their name yeah that's right uh so a little bit about that uh I guess I linked to an explanation about Dows that's a little bit longer um and oh no it's only today okay I'm an acronym I'm just reading I'm just

reading this autonomous organization as discussed in lesson one decentralized means that there isn't one primary decision maker so there we go interesting I'm actually learning about a kind of a an evolution of dowels which are um uh co-ops developed on ethereum no CEO a group of individuals makes decisions to make sure the blockchain can continuously improve I really I actually love it when people read text that's on the screen um it does help me process it sometimes yeah I don't want to do that every time but I guess on this particular setup with the flash cards I I could see a

place in it okay there's my link to the what's a dow so a little bit more of an extended explanation uh to it um well no well that last slide is a video and an article but so I just tried to supplement it a couple of ways um um let's see and that was a check all three it's used for all three of those last fundamental uh talk about evolutionary terminology forking uh link to more learning but just an explanation of it at the top one of the difficulties with this is

um so Shanghai is going to happen in probably five weeks and one of the goals of creating any of this content is that it's classic like it's not going to become dated gotcha but then you have something that is about a future Fork that will soon be a past Fork gotcha oh so yeah it dates it well you know what I was totally under the wrong impression I thought there were going to be winks and nods uh towards it uh during the course of any development uh anything I developed leading up to it uh just because I understand well the first thing you invited me to learn about was the Shanghai hard fork and uh

I've just seen that update as a benchmark and for whatever reason in my mind I got the idea that it was going to be a talking point leading up to it I didn't think about the permanence of these modules and how it would date it yeah so what's interesting is as soon as we finish uh uh the Shanghai heartfork we'll be moving toward the next hard Fork uh which is likely to be in October or November of this year so that's one of the difficulties with educating is the material uh evolves so quickly that it's like if you invest hours in educating on something that in a few months that material is old yeah that would be frustrating although

it keeps you employed I guess if there's need for more content revised content um well you know really what it does um yeah so yeah we'll talk about a minute characters of a Dao autonomous decentralized open source that sounds fair um so it can be discouraging to to try to it's it's hard to stay at the tip of the spirit it's hard to really like yeah keep up with everything that's going on and get that try to educate with others and so what inevitably happens is you either

um give up a little bit and don't keep up with everything new or you slack on educating and like either way it's always this you like uh tug of war of what you're doing with your time yeah [Music] um and uh yeah the temporal uh uh how impermanence uh uh of the of the knowledge you worry about uh its value uh you know if it's not very permanent uh I used to I don't know I'm going off on a tangent never mind it's okay uh yeah did they just all go straight across

no I moved a couple okay all right good I think it shuffles them around every time cheers okay intro to ethereum killed it all right so is this going to link me to the uh poet it does yeah so we got that um yes I'm reading all of this sure I am okay and then in theory I didn't know if the link would work so I typed okay yeah it works yes all right hold on I'm gonna connect my web3 wallet over here yo dude so worth it all right congratulations so do you know

are you familiar with this kind of thing I got caught using a ledger I really should be using this kind of thing we'll have to get you one of these too um these are both Hardware signing wallets okay we have super phase on a ledger yeah I've seen both of them I prefer right now the lattice one from grid plus but they're both good devices okay is that uh you designed the PO app uh I saw on Twitter is that was that of one of those devices if it was orange you didn't I saw something that looked like a cartoon face a little orange smiley cartoon face then I I don't believe I've ever been allowed to design a poet uh but okay hold on

am I still connected I am connected I I do often like um use a service to create them for me oh yeah there's a service called poappathon uh and I think I've mentioned it to you once before yep it's a few times yeah it's it's a service that I use to create poab images and it it really supports artists and gives them a chance to yes so the guys in the community are sort of like Freelancers and you put like a request out there and see yep who bites okay cool well you'll they'll always be bites it's

very cool yeah some of the submissions uh you know on their Discord page some of the submissions they threw together were awesome for uh a guy who was looking at uh you know put a request out there described himself said what the uh event was and then what his interests were and people threw together cool stuff I I think AI is probably involved but uh the the integration of everything uh was really really cool um but yeah this I'll have to check that out well do you know who that was like what the uh oh this guy I can't remember he was he's really into Tech and uh chemistry and and strange wow nice and stranger things

and uh so they created the poab using the font from The Stranger Things show and they had him in a lab looking like a mad scientist and stuff and uh it was really neat if I can find it on the Discord server I'll try to link you to it yeah so yeah I love the course um I think it's an absolutely awesome start I appreciate the recommendations yeah you know this is Ground Zero or square one so yeah God always got a ways to go I'll share it in a couple places and um yeah just be open to feedback be open to updating it absolutely that's part of the the hard part of these is like it's always uh it's always a work in progress It's never really like

as done as you think it's going to be because you're always there's something that's going to change or like uh you're gonna learn something different or I promise if you look back at this in two years you'll be like what um yeah and it's not that you're wrong it's just that information has changed and you've grown sure yeah yeah perspective uh and context has changed uh I I appreciate that uh so yeah I'm just now looking at the time I got uh I have an appointment I have to go be at so we may need to turn towards uh wrapping things up uh but yeah that's that's where I'm at right now that's pretty pretty good walkthrough uh if you have any

recommendations towards next steps maybe what what to investigate or what to I have some new software that I need to be uh working on this week so if you had a suggestion for a theme or anybody who watches this has a suggestion for a theme uh I'd be happy to say like And subscribe so yeah so please like And subscribe and keep tuning in to our exciting uh series while you're looking for questions I would encourage you so two two topics that the beginner workflow that you mentioned that you struggle with I I would really encourage you to lean into that and and educate people on that and the second one is going to ethereum.org

and just looking at the content it's a really well developed site and like looking at things that aren't immediately obvious to you that you could maybe teach someone else but great suggestions the Hands-On like the just getting started is really uh the most important stuff all right noted uh I'll I'll give the website a uh uh peruse and see what see what jumps out at me but yeah all right uh until next time thanks again and uh yeah later [Music]
