8004: Bring Agents On Chain
Devcon 8 · 3 Nov 2026 · 9:30
AltLayer and 8004scan founder YQ examines how ERC-8004 agent identity, reputation, and validation registries should be measured. Using explorer and API data, he contrasts registration totals with feedback and health checks, arguing for metrics that state their numerator, denominator, observation time, and limits.

Yeah, actually a few hours ago probably you already saw me doing MC here. So today I'm going to um sort of share more about like sort of 804 and the status and u also more data um and um and basically what we can build on top of 804 and also 804 scan. Um as you can see from the numbers right um right now we already have over one and uh 1.5 million agents registered on chain um across like Ethereum L2s and different um sort of uh different like sort of places um and um out of these uh agents right uh easily you can check uh what are the
ones um basically they register on chain and what type of services they can yeah prov provide. So uh as as you can see right uh actually u last last month we have talally to talk about like AI and also various these kind of onchain agents uh for the uh on Ethereum and across different platforms and I believe for most of you um probably use more GBT and cloud than uh Google search. So that sort of as I mentioned right um this kind of aging like sort of uh they are the s from the terminals and they are becoming the new UI for a lot of users.
Uh on the other side uh why we need to pull all the agents onchain. So one thing like as you can see right if you register your agent onchain um via this 84 contract so basically all the necessary information can be found by all different developers and users um across uh different chains and uh beyond that um with scan uh you can see all the metadata at the same time we also test the endpoints and all the uh sort of interfaces for the users so not just the human um also your own agents right like these muse or your personal agents they can directly access these um uh onchain
agents uh via a dom for contracts or they can also call a4 scan uh APIs uh beyond that um as you know if you register agent on chain via a4 you immediately get this NFT and on top of that you can also ask the users or the all the other user agents to give you feedback. So that how you get like sort of these um um uh reputation system basically it's a it's a feedback system. So anyone can give feedback based on like sort of the user experience and developer experience. uh beyond that um so in the in the next like probably uh phase for A.04 they
will also have this validation uh systems basically different uh uh developers and parties they can set up their validations to validate sort of the endpoints and interfaces for different agents. Uh on top of that you can further give uh ranking and uh feedback for these agents. So right now if you just look at the aden for contract it's um it's a very um like sort of clean contract um but on top of it we have the aden for scan so we actually have a lot of uh features on top of it and you can see right we have the token page and at the same time we try to make it as um uh informative as
possible apart from the metadata for example your agent name ID and various like this kind of metadata info we also test the endpoints and also try to provide ways for example for users or human to directly connect with the agent and that's how you like sort of uh see from the the page and uh actually later I will also show the page that you can directly interact with the agent by uh click a bunch of buttons on the website and then interact and call the uh u sort of the agent to to basically get some uh useful features from the agent. Um but at the same time as we show right from various data we can see that uh the
feedback um collected from users and agents are not that much and uh actually we recommend as many user give feedback as possible. Um so this is the latest data uh you can get from the doen for scan as you can see a lot of these L2s and the other chains the uh especially base the dominant the number of agents registered on chain and uh at the same time there's a ranking and u uh and feedback system uh there's a leaderboard um and we based on different matrix to uh give the uh sort of agent different scores and try to give like sort of the legit agents higher score as possible.
Um as I mentioned right we try to also enhance the feedback system reputation system to give uh better ranking for the legit agents and at the same time we also customize a lot of functions for the agents for their like sort of uh trading information and the token information itself. Um we a little bit short of time but at the same time as I mentioned right apart from a4 scan we also have this uh underlying uh information uh system called alpha act basically to curate the useful information for the tokens and uh onchain agents for example the holders information uh the transaction
information and also uh further a lot of these uh RWA tokens they may have like sort of the volume information we provide everything you the back end. So you can use your agent or yourself to call these u uh agents and interfaces to collect the information. Uh uh and u yeah as a summary you can see right you can just scan the QR code uh or you can tap 8004can.io IO. Um this platform is quite agent sort of uh native. Um apart from yourself, you can try it out by connect to different agent and get the information or even do trading. Uh you can also like your personal agent to connect to it and do
various information uh sort of fetching and uh to do further sort of the aging interaction. Um that all my presentation uh just feel free to ask any question you have. Yeah. >> All right. Thank you so much Dr. WQ and we'll do one quick question. >> Yeah, thanks for the talk. Um, is there a way for me to sort of verify that the reputation we're getting for any agents is valid and uh it's actually worth it? I mean, what stops me from having my own agent and then reputating it like giving reputation scores higher than ever?
>> Um, so far there are two different ways. when I um if a lot of users and agents give positive feedback on chain and basically the ranking will be relatively high. At the same time we have separate validation system they will test sort of the endpoints for example the MCP and also the H2A uh interfaces to ensure like they are sort of online and can serve the request um like when when is aging online. So based on the quality of your service um the there are also some metrics marrying that and based on that kind of metrics we basically rank your uh agents among all the others. Yeah
>> actually we got lucky and got more time for questions. So if someone has a burning one you can ask it. Well, >> yes. >> Uh, what are some of the popular agents uh in your platform and uh are they actually making uh money? >> Um, so it's a good question. popular agents actually on blockchains they are they are mainly defy uh defy agents help you to do portfolio management and some of of them help you to uh basically do trading uh we don't have the data like
how much money they make um right now but we are trying to uh integrate with a bunch of protocols like arc um to guide this x4 to uh payment transactions and beyond that uh as I just mentioned right there's alpha arc backend system uh we start to track um this kind of different tickers and u uh token agent and um in that case you uh later we can show you like how many transactions and how much P&L for different users and different tokens.
>> Got it. So right now the agents uh are they getting paid with X42? >> Uh all different channels X42 are even like native tokens. Um yeah all the different channels support it. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Thank you so much for this talk. Thank you and
