Ueli Maurer
Ueli Maurer served as a member of the Swiss Federal Council from 2009 to 2022, heading the Finance Department for most of that period, and used the post to back Crypto Valley's growth in Zug rather than legislate against it. As finance minister he backed the federal working group whose 2018 report on distributed ledger technology led Switzerland to make targeted amendments to existing law instead of passing a dedicated blockchain law, and he appeared at Crypto Valley events including the CV Summit in Zug.
