Shaw Walters

Shaw Walters is the founder of Eliza Labs and creator of the open source ElizaOS agent framework for building autonomous AI agents, work he began in 2024 under the name ai16z. He entered the blockchain space through game development and NFT projects, where he learned Solidity, and later worked as lead developer at Webaverse building AI-driven characters for a metaverse project. He had been experimenting with AI agents since 2021, joining an early community testing GPT-3 access years before large language models became mainstream. His ETHBoulder 2026 talk, "DreamTech: Building the Decentralized Internet in the Age of AI," sits within the onchain agents work that has defined his career.
