Nick Tomaino

Nick Tomaino is the founder and general partner of 1confirmation, one of crypto's earliest dedicated seed funds, launched in 2017 with backing from investors including Peter Thiel, Marc Andreessen, and Mark Cuban. The firm led early investments in OpenSea, dYdX, SuperRare, Polkadot, and Cosmos, and Tomaino was an early NFT believer, backing CryptoPunks and artists like Beeple and Pak before NFTs went mainstream. He joined Coinbase in 2013 as one of its first business development and marketing hires, later worked as a principal at Runa Capital, and co-founded the Token Summit conference in 2017. He is known for a contrarian, founder first investing style and for publicly critiquing what he sees as extractive behavior by large crypto VCs.
