Mike Selig
Mike Selig is the Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, confirmed by the Senate in December 2025 after President Trump nominated him to lead the agency at a pivotal moment for crypto market structure policy. He began his career as a law clerk to then-CFTC Commissioner J. Christopher Giancarlo, spent a decade in private practice at firms including Perkins Coie and Willkie Farr & Gallagher (where he made partner advising crypto clients such as eToro and Paradigm), and returned to government in 2025 as Chief Counsel of the SEC's Crypto Task Force and Senior Advisor to Chairman Paul Atkins. A George Washington University Law School graduate, he has been a prominent critic of "regulation by enforcement" and a leading advocate for bringing crypto markets, including perpetual futures, onshore under clear U.S. rules.
