Mariano Conti

Mariano Conti is an Argentine Ethereum developer best known as the former Head of Smart Contracts (and earlier Head of Oracles) at MakerDAO, where he helped build and secure the Dai stablecoin system through its crucial growth years. Living through Argentina's currency controls and inflation, he became something of a folk hero in DeFi by famously taking his salary in Dai and living on crypto, a story he told in a widely read personal essay about MakerDAO's rise. He also created the tongue-in-cheek SelloutDAO experiment in on-chain governance. Since leaving Maker he has stayed active as an investor, advisor, and Ethereum community member, and serves on the ZKsync Security Council.
