Joe Edelman
Joe Edelman founded the Meaning Alignment Institute. With Oliver Klingefjord and Ryan Lowe, he introduced Full-Stack Alignment, a collaborative research program examining how AI systems and institutions can preserve what people value. Their work proposes Thick Models of Value, a richer representation of human values intended to address the loss of meaning when institutions optimize narrow measures such as clicks or standardized test scores.
