Henry de Valence
Henry de Valence is the founder of Penumbra Labs, the team behind Penumbra, a fully shielded proof-of-stake blockchain built for the Cosmos interchain ecosystem. Penumbra lets users transact, stake, and trade privately through a multi-asset shielded pool, and its DEX, built on the ZSwap primitive he designed, uses sealed-bid batch auctions to resist frontrunning and MEV. Before founding Penumbra, he worked on cryptography at the Zcash Foundation, where he helped build a modern Rust networking stack for Zcash, and he has contributed widely used open source Rust cryptography libraries. His writing and talks on private market design, shielded staking, and zero-knowledge systems have made him a leading voice on blockchain privacy.
