Guy Young

Guy Young is the founder and CEO of Ethena Labs, the company behind USDe, a synthetic dollar stablecoin that holds its peg through crypto collateral hedged with offsetting futures positions rather than bank held fiat. He founded Ethena in 2023 after nearly a decade in traditional finance, most recently at Cerberus Capital Management, where he became Head of Principal Investments at a Cerberus affiliate and led the firm's expansion into Australian markets. The design of USDe was inspired by Arthur Hayes' writing on a delta neutral stablecoin, and Hayes went on to become an investor in and advisor to Ethena. Under Young, Ethena grew into one of the largest stablecoin issuers in crypto, later expanding into products like USDtb and stablecoin issuance for other projects including MegaETH, Sui, and Jupiter.
