Evgeny Gaevoy

Evgeny Gaevoy is the founder and CEO of Wintermute, one of the largest algorithmic trading firms and liquidity providers in digital assets. Before founding Wintermute in 2017, he spent nearly a decade at Optiver, where he built and ran the firm's European ETF trading business into one of the largest in the EU, and he holds an Executive MBA from London Business School. Named after the AI in William Gibson's Neuromancer, Wintermute grew from a self-funded startup into a firm providing liquidity across dozens of centralized and decentralized exchanges, surviving both a $160 million hack in 2022 and the FTX collapse. He is an outspoken commentator on market structure, liquidity, and crypto's institutional evolution across Unchained's Chopping Block and Empire.
