Dan Morehead
Dan Morehead is the founder of Pantera Capital, which he launched in 2003 as a global macro hedge fund before pivoting it entirely to crypto in 2013, creating the first institutional Bitcoin fund in the United States when BTC traded around $65. That fund went on to become one of the best performing investment vehicles on record, and Pantera grew into one of the largest blockchain investment firms, backing companies such as Circle, Bitstamp, and Ripple across its hedge, venture, and token funds. Before Pantera, Morehead served as CFO and Head of Macro Trading at Julian Robertson's Tiger Management, held senior derivatives and FX roles at Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust, and began his career as a mortgage-backed securities trader at Goldman Sachs after graduating magna cum laude from Princeton.
