Bin Lu worked on CarbonVote, a tool for collecting community views on blockchain governance. It let ether holders signal an opinion by sending zero-value transactions to voting addresses, without transferring or locking their holdings. The team used CarbonVote to measure support for Ethereum’s DAO hard fork and considered its use for other contentious protocol changes.
