How PeerDAS came to Ethereum
Rollups need room to post their data, and Ethereum's answer was blobs. This is how it went from every node downloading every blob (EIP-4844, the Dencun upgrade) to nodes holding and sampling only a slice, PeerDAS (EIP-7594), which went live with the Fusaka upgrade. Along the way, the argument was how fast to raise blob counts, at what cost to home stakers, and with what priority. Every quote is the speaker's own words in their order, with the ums and stumbles taken out; the original captions are one tap away.
